why and when did anet give rapidfire a 3,8sec delay after point blank shot, where is the patchnote?
SaR change from 1200 to 600 was the first big upset to me, I only play core ranger since release but now with this little LB nerf iam nearly about to quit this game.

No 3 sec delay for sure, like 0.5 sec between any action and rapdifire, not sure if was there before or not(not a LB user).

in WvW that delay didnt cause of lag.
u have to hit a target, after using skill 4 (point blank shot) i have to wait 3,8 sec before i am able to hit skill 2 (rapid fire) all other skills are instant.

i just testet it with 2 rangers from my server and they didnt have that delay too Oo.
then i must be bugged thats wierd where i have to complain for a fix?
and its definitly not a lag issue, delay is only on rapid fire after knockback and i can see the 3,8sec ticking down.

You are definitely experiencing some kind of unique phenomenon. I just tried doing the same as in your video, in EBG, with no delay on using Rapid Fire after hitting with PBS. (My skills are operating normally.)

Some things to try that may help you figure out why it’s happening (random order… just typed things as they came to mind):

1) Try swapping bows; maybe it’s the sigil or something in your bow in the video (or the bow itself is bugged).

2) Take off all of your gear including jewelry (go naked) and just use a reg blue or green bow, no sigil.

3) Swap your pet to something else.

4) Do a repair on the client.

5) Try a different map – home and enemy BL’s. Same problem in PVE maps?

If all else fails submit a report to Support.

Edit: just thought of something else… change all of your utilities and elite too. Maybe it’s one of them that’s causing the bug.

I was able to reproduce this bug and on multiple weapons and classes (video below showcases Ranger only). The issue stems from assigning the auto-cast function on another weapon skill besides the 1st and executing another attack that isn’t the auto-cast assigned weapon skill.

In your video, Chris, Rapid Fire is assigned with this function. In doing so, it will either send the skill on a short cooldown as though it were interrupted/cancelled or full cooldown (will vary). On a brighter note, this is a good way of telling which skills will still go into full cooldown if interrupted or cancelled.

On that note, someone tell Anet Hunter’s Shot (Longbow 3) will go on full cooldown when cancelled or interrupted.

Edit: Worth noting that not all skills will send the auto-cast assigned skill on cooldown. It seems that skills with no cast times or require ground or directional targeting will not cause this bug. Which is why Hunter’s Shot and Barrage is friendly with the setup of having Rapid Fire on auto-cast.

2nd Edit: Also, note that this delay will happen if the auto-cast is assigned to utilities, heals, and elites. Unless said utilities were instant-cast or had no cooldown, as those are fine.

ok problem solved! (at least somehow)

i did put the LB from weapon slot 1 to weapon slot 2 and everything is good, i can use rapid fire as normal.

but if i put the longbow back to weaponslot 1 that bug remains.

and its only with a LB, i have no delay on weapon slot 1 with a GS.

Probably because he had only changed the auto-attack assignment to one of the weapon slots. It doesn’t automatically carry over.
