Opening this thread to all who believe LB is no skill and hate it to provide their alternative build (ON THE RANGER) that is superior to Longbow.

Go, lets see this.

The LB build I’m running now is super cheesy. Like the p/d thief of ranger builds, only it beats p/d thieves pretty easily. I’ve played ranger since launch and I think its probably the strongest/easiest 1v1 spec I’ve ever played.

I mostly do WvW, but I use this build (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWbOlYom0a8). Works great in solo and small group roaming. Not too useful in zergs.

0/2/6/6/0 condi SotF + Barkskin condi survival ranger; krait runes, sb + s/d or a/d + s/t, torment/earth/energy/geomancy sigils as you wish.

Depends on the role of the ranger. I’d argue that for the teams that like to push an ele to far would be better suited using a condi ranger because it is superior in 1 v 1s than an ele and can stall far nearly as well. Meanwhile you can get better dps than a power ranger, something with teleports that can gap close from behind walls which removes any possibility of using line of sight to the victims advantange. So, in a sense kind of what DanSH posted above me.

Then again, power requires more skill imo.

It means Barkskin, I’m just kidding though don’t take it seriously..

I got bored with my LB ranger and switched to traps. In PVP it is hilarious to watch a berserker based class get blown up by traps.

\1 Been running this in PvP very strong if u go a/d and entangle with shortbow really easy to get 15 stacks bleed. Seem to do very well against everything but mesmers and lots of condi removal

Agree with this. Been running this in PvP very strong if u go a/d and entangle with shortbow really easy to get 15 stacks bleed. Seem to do very well against everything but mesmers and lots of condi removal

Most condi -x-x-6-6-x builds are superior to LB builds in terms of 1v1.
