Let me help my teammates!

Hello Anet! I request that you make the traps available to remote detonation by me. Why? Combo fields!! Detonate Fire trap, use blast finishers Aaand we have stacks of might. Thank you.
Really just make them work like the GS skill #4 works. I don’t see a reason why others can use their combo fields to help their teammates and I can’t.
QFT.
Was my first thought when I popped a trap.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
I wouldn’t mind this either. It would make frost trap much more useful, especially with greatsword and/or sword.

The pertinent phrase here is “walk into a trap”. Place your traps better or place them under mobs so they are triggered immediately. If you want a fire field then use an offhand torch. All your problems can be solved with a change of play style.
We already have fire and water fields on demand without mobs triggering a trap
- water with healing spring
- fire with torch
also
- venom with different pets

Frost trap is an ice combo field. This is an excellent combo field that is very uncommon.

What he means is that in the so called higher tiers they love to stack up into balls and spam combo fields on themselves, before rushing into the enemy spamming the #1 button with their forehead. Its super pro… well maybe not, but it is easy and that is what ANET has made GW2 all about, easy.

I always love it when they do this! It makes me smile when my catapult hits them all in their stupid ball.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Seems it would add some versatility with the added benefit of being able to blast finish on our own field for those around us, even if we already have access some of those fields.
There’s a false assumption there that the ball is just auto-attacking.
We do this with our 10 in WvW. Several stacks of might on 10 people is quite an increase in damage. We then coordinate when guardians, etc. will put down lines, etc. to hinder movement. Rangers traps, entangle, healing springs, barrage. Whether we’re “pushing through”, “push into the middle”, or “break formation and clean up”.
There is quite a bit more than “get boons then auto-attack”.
Just because you don’t do something doesn’t mean you should knock it as something bad.
Disorganized zergs do largely auto-attack. The next step up for them is to stack boons before doing that. The next step up is to actually have good players. Finally, the last step is to communicate and coordinate.
My healing spring wouldn’t do much for our group by itself, but our group knows when and where I put it down EVERY time I use it. This allows for more quick communication on whether to move to it and hit blast finishers or just anyone that needs a cleanse or some regen+vigor. Those blast finishers from a group of 10 full heal our 10 and we go right in. Given a 15 second duration, this is beautiful. Given 2+ rangers, it’s absolutely lovely.
I’m embarrassed that I gave flak about Rangers in WvW. Honestly, they are only “bad” at the mindless zerging. For organized groups that coordinate, the Ranger is an essential part. Our group doesn’t want me on my mesmer. They want my ranger. I love it.
