Ok so I’ve been playing gw2 for 2 months or so and ive finally settled on 2 classes i have a 60 Elementalist and a 70 Ranger

I prefer the ranger but i keep seeing really bad things about it so i have to ask.

Will it really be that bad at 80 ? will i find no one willing to run fractals/dungeons with me because im a ranger?

I’ve tried pvp on both toons and i have a blast with the ranger so i know i’ll be ok there.

PvP on a Ranger is fine, but finding a group for serious, hardcore dungeons/events on a Ranger is unbelievably difficult. Nobody wants a low-dps Ranger joining the group and ruining the high damage output. Let’s see, I’ve been kicked out of Fractals level 27+ 4 times, been kicked out of CoF 8 times, and CoE 2 times. That’s a lot of kicking, and I consider myself to be a very good Ranger as well.

You’re not that bad as a ranger, but you’re not as good as they want. As rangers in PvE, you’ll need to be aware of being avoided by other players just because you play a ranger.

Once in a dungeon I’m very, very rarely kicked (only ever happened once) on my ranger. Most all of the kicking happens during group formation. Easy way around it? Start the PUG group yourself. It helps.

If you can, launch the explorable mode on your character. If the party kicks you, they are all kicked from the instance. It could be a painful lesson in humility and show them the error of hubris. Of course – don’t try to get kicked.

Yeah. Very good advice. The one time that I was kicked was during the Molten Facility boss. I was the one that entered the instance. Needless to say that the kickers even wasted their own time. Ah. Sweet, sweet schadenfreude.

ah thanks for the answers im loving my ranger its amazing to be able to solo group events but i just don’t want to get to 80 to be rejected from groups left right and center

joining a guild can help to get groups.
