Guild Wars 2

Hey rangers,

I’m new to the game and I’ve been trying a few classes lately…
I chose the Ranger, but I’m still a bit lost when it comes to Traits.

I know it doesn’t matter MUCH when leveling but I’d like a few suggestions anyways, if you will be so kind to give me
So far, I’ve using SB+GS or SB+sword+X. If you can suggest a build adapted to this weapon choice it would be much appreciated.

Even if you don’t plan to run a beastmaster, 10 points in BM for master’s bond is pretty ridiculous on a low-level pet once you build up a 25 stack. My level 30 ranger’s pet was soloing higher-level champion mobs.

Master’s bond’s effectiveness decreases with higher level, so it’s probably not worth it after about level 50-60. But at low levels it’s pretty OP.

Any weapon works great for leveling EXCEPT for axe sometimes.

Axe will often aggro the yellows with it’s bounce and then you have to fight more things.

Safe and fast is bow and bear but a little boring.

I honestly don’t see why aggroing a yellow would ever be a big deal when leveling.

Axe/Torch is great at dealing with groups of trash. Especially once you reach level 40 and can reach off-hand training to increase the size of bonfire.
