ok these 2 skills
Lick Wounds and Search and Rescue both have the ranger’s pet run to either you or an ally and start to revive them.

is there a fail chance to this because lick wounds fails 80% of the time (pet comes to me but doesnt start to res…just stands there) and ditto for search and rescue(70% of the time)

is this just pet AI or intentional?

and if it jsut the pet’s ai then i got 2 questions.

when will it be fixed
and when will pets be able ot attack o nthe move? cause Anet’s last patch to this just made pet attack animation start faster for the first hit, then pet cant hit enemy anymore cause htey running. that wasnt the solution we wanted.

so basically it just gives +1 hit to a running enemy.
seriously let pet attack on move.

It’s AI, I haven’t had either fail on me since the December patch though, so idk what the chance of it happening would be…

Lick Wounds and Search & Rescue -NEVER- work for me. It’s a 90% fail rate. Even my daze interrupt for the downed skill actually misses lol. :/

I wonder if it fails because the pet gets hit by a stun, could that break the pet from healing you? I think we need to isolate the -how- it happens. I bring the stun up because it doesn’t work for me when I have a ton of enemies trying to kill me, it could be that one of them used a stun skill and it hit my pet.

If your pet is defeated, neither of these skills will work (this also includes when your pet becomes defeated, while its reviving). That’s why you should always press F4, before you use Lick Wounds, whenever you are downed. “Search and Rescue” also has a maximum range of 600, from your pet to a downed/defeated ally. So if your pet is at any longer range then 600, nothing will happen, but the skill will still recharge.

Lick Wounds works about 75% of the time for me, and “Search and Rescue” works 100% of the time (except when my pet is defeated, or is out of range, of curse). I always use “Search and Rescue” when I play fractals or dungeons, so I use it a lot.

I know from experience that the pet will get back up and continue to revive, after being knocked back/down. I don’t know about stun or daze, though.

lick wounds fails when on a slope. it’s ridiculous and gamebreaking…for rangers.

It still fails a LOT when pet isn’t defeated ._.

Question, what pets are you guys using? I only seem to have this problem with my bear pet. The devourer ones actually heal me when I use it.

heck even the stuff that isnt a slope is a slope!
