I’ve noticed that “Light on your Feet” trait doesn’t trigger when executing skills that cause you to evade during their animations. Like with “Stalker’s Strike” and “Quick Shot”, which have evade frames in their execution.

Right now the trait only triggers with dodging (the one which costs endurance to activate)

It’s duration and non-stacking are not a problem, as the trait doesn’t say that it will stack and it only lasts 4 seconds.

I’m a casual PvE adventurer, I enjoy combat, adventure and helping, but not farming.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

The dodge being talked about here is the main dodging mechanic (double tap on default), i think LOYF only procs on that.

But I would agree with the OP, SB 3 would work perfectly with the trait.

Anyway is LOYF tooltip not changed? I thought its 5% now but the toolip says its 10%

Crazy that LoYF does not proc on evade instead of dodge, imo.

I noticed this as well. Shame. But if they do change it I feel as if there needs to be a good icd due to being able to evade every 3 attacks with the gs

Yeah, well the duration should be longer with a corresponding ICD. Look at Berserker’s Power on Warrior, 20% more damage for 8s after using a burst skill and burst skills have an 8s CD, plus there are a myriad of ways to build adrenaline… They essentially just nerfed this trait with the vigor changes.

Been looking forward to trying LoYF in this build for WvW.

So that you do not waste the Opening Strike Proc on the Rune of Evasion (6) bonus, since it deals some damage, it will use it up, unfortunately. The set is celestial anyway so divinity works with it, plus it gives the most stats for a (1) piece, since everything else is +25 to one stat.

LoYF is actually kind of interesting, they did change it from 5% to 10%. With two rolls, that’s a 20% burst of condi ticks and damage that stacks with itself and other sources.

With proper timing of your condi applications you can set up a nasty, but subtle degen spike. It’s potent stuff even if you don’t invest too heavily into condition damage.

Also restores piercing to SB without investing in marksmanship. Gives you a new tree to play with altogether. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be.

Wait so 2 dodges stack with the bonus?

I don’t think it stacks in intensity, just duration, but don’t quote me…

I’d like to see this trait function passively without the dodge requirement. Lead the wind is practically the same trait for longbow, yet you don’t see any requirement for it to function. Maybe reduce the targets per arrow to 3 (how often will you be able to hit 5 with the shortbow anyway) and drop the damage buff to 5%. There, it’s now a potential pickup over quick draw (although I love quick draw too much to ever drop it).

Anyone talk about how bad Most Dangerous Game is? Sitting at <50% health seems like a really poor decision. Not to mention how it takes you at least 8 seconds to gain the most benefit from this trait. Why not simply add 200-300 power to the ranger when their health falls below 50%? Yes, I know that doesn’t scale with boon duration, but it’s fundamentally better. If we wanted to get interesting we could scale in increase in power based on health thresholds.

Not even that. It just gives you a new 3s buff. Every time it starts at 2s, and I count the 0s blink as one second. So 3s. I never see the initial 4s mark we’re supposed to get.

Maybe I’m just slow, but I never catch it.

While the buff is on you, you get the 10% direct DPS increase for like 3s. This increase does not increase your condition damage at all.

If you hit with a condition while the trait is actively blinking on your bar, that condition will benefit from a 10% duration increase.

So if you can burst a bunch of conditions in the tiny window when the trait buff is active, conditions will benefit from the increase even after it expires so long as they were applied during the traits active.

There’s that, I guess.

This does not apply to conditions you applied before you dodged with LoYF. The effect doesn’t stack per dodge.

It still frees you from being obligated to the marksmanship line, but meh. Just sat down and seriously tested this. I was very wrong. I can’t defend this.

It’s a really crappy trait for anything except restoring piercing and CD reduction to the SB and even then it’d probably be wiser to pick Quick Draw for the benefit of your swap and just use the SB skills wisely.

Most Dangerous Game might even be a more attractive pick. But yeah. LoYF is strictly a PvE trait at best.

works really well if you slot energy sigils. dodge roll a lot, evade lots of attacks, and always have the bonus.

I think also having the effect on evade would make GM worthy
