So I was playing skyhammer, fighting a warrior at the cannon and he used “fear me” so I immediately used lightning reflexes to break out of the fear but instead of evading back as the skill clearly states, my character evaded forwards in the direction he was being feared and I fell off the edge.

This is very misleading and I would have used another stun breaker if I had known.

Either the skill description needs to be edited, the direction of the evade needs to be addressed or something.

Sounds like a bug, or a mistake on your part, but we’ll go with bug.

LR will indeed make you evade in the opposite direction to fears, I use it often vs necros, especially when stomping and they use their down-state fear (what I am lazy).

Doesn’t LR make you evade in the opposite direction of your target? In the case you were feared away from him and you used LR it would technically make you evade in the direction you were running.

I am pretty sure thats not the case with LR, but I know it is definately the case with sword #2 evade… so now I am unsure.. maybe I subconciously deselect targets when using it O_O . I’ll do try later unless someone else can confirm

Nope, when I use LR after being feared by a downed necro, I am at his location when the LR ends..

It could be this bug due to your camera… happens a lot that I dodge away from somebody, rotate my camera to see how far he’s behind me, use another dodgeroll or LR to create a bigger gap and jump back to the enemy…

That’s because of the way his character is moving, giving his back to the enemy, so if he uses LR wouldn’t it make sense for him to dash towards his enemy?

Edit: I call for a bug report, but I doubt they will fix this. I think the intentional uses is for you to dash away from your enemy, so we learn the hard way.

It could have to do with how your camera is positioned by holding R Click. I have often noticed that when I get feared, at the end of the fear, my character will be facing whichever way I have place my camera via R Click. Try next time looking away while being feared, if you want to dodge back to him. If that doesn’t work…. bug.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah I can see what you guys mean with the camera. I had my camera set so i was facing the necro and my character was being feared facing towards me.

I just find it misleading because the skill description says “evade back” so you would think your character “evades back” because what happens if you have your settings on free camera and you are looking back to throw muddy terrain or a ground targeting trap? What happens then? If thats the case then the free camera option would give players a disadvantage?
