Longbow traits.
WvW, I would keep Piercing Arrows/Eagle Eyes and use stealth as an escape tool. I haven’t got the time to explore too much on Remoreseless, but currently at the moment, I only see stealth useful as an escaping skill.
Edit: I also don’t see the effectiveness of opening shot at the moment. If someone who had explored this area can enlighten, it would greatly be appreciated.

Mmm yes. I should do some quick calculations with Remorseless to see just how much of a dps increase you actually get…
I’m sure it’ll increase your damage by a bit, I’m just not sure if it’s worth sacrificing the range/dmg from Eagle Eye and the AoE from Piercing
That is what I was thinking. It will increase, but not enough worthy to waste both Piercing and Eagles
Edit: If Opening Strike has more usage, I would’ve gone for it definitely. For example, a daze effect if you use LB skill (1) in stealth. Would go nicely with piercing. Or perhaps an explosive shot… Just being creative.

Traits I think are better than Remorseless (in no particular order):
– Steady Focus
– Spotter
– Piercing Arrows
– Eagle Eye
Remorseless is still not worth it; another reason we need a MM trait consolidation.
I play only WvW and run a LB/GS trapper build so I consider myself support mainly. And currently I’m using Eagle Eye and Spotter (don’t think I could ever give up EE with a LB).
I considered trying Remorseless but I agree with others and think I’ll stick with Spotter.
(I’ve never tried Piercing Arrows, might have to throw that on once to try it out. I was never sure how much it would actually hit more than one target so I never tried it.)
I agree that Eagle Eye is hard to live without. I like piercing arrows in big fights and zerging, but its situational if your soloing or picking at the edges. Spotter is always useful but never exceptional.
I think remorseless will be great once they fix the auto-crit. Especially for people who are power based, but aren’t using heavy crit chance/damage. It will give you a nice way to use hunters shot and get an offensive boost out of it.

Spotter gives an increased chance to score critical hits on all shots, Remorseless gives a guaranteed critical hit once every 12 seconds. Without doing the math, it seems to me Spotter is the better way to go.
It depends on the size of the group I’m running with
Small groups/Squads (15 or less)
- Spotter
- Eagle Eye
Bigger groups
- Piercing Arrows
- Eagle Eye
I see Remorseless great for roaming options (in theory), maybe for groups no larger than a party, but second scenario should requiere spotter also.

This.
So where’s that Ranger Crack Shot?
