I made a little video of a lvl12 ranger fighting lvl80s to prove this class is OP and needs to be nerfed. I hope you enjoy!

characters under 80 are given bonus stats to fight level 80s, once you hit 80 you wont have that same power.

I remember beating a thief 1v1 on my lv 14 guard with a staff. What does that say? Nothing but how bad he/she was (I didn’t use the stat exploit which I won’t explain here).

lol…My favorite was the videos of the people zerging with baby theurgist, like 50 of them, They’d come up on a level 50 running around, then spam air pets on him, and slowly kill him since he was perma stunned

My favourite was the thief @~4mins.. tried to HS spam to close the gap, used all his initative and didnt even hit you once.. what a clown.

I agree, good skills, but some of these guys you probably would’ve killed with 1 utility slot.

Some of those players remind me some people I fought in WvWvW the first days of Beta.
The first day I didn’t know I was playing against other players, because some of them were so bad that didn’t even use evade rolls.

Not so much a video of how OP rangers are, but how bad other players can be.

Still doesn’t warrant a nerf.

Haha, yeah I know the opponents were terrible, but i think you cant do it with every other classes on lvl 12. After the fights i can say that warriors were the easiest to beat (especially GS wars), and even if it is a decent gs warrior, i can immobilize, cripple them, and evade most of their attacks, thats why i felt it a bit OP.

You leveled 12 levels, and then you did go in WvW and after like a couple of hours playing, your conclusion is that ranger is OP? Please go home you are drunk.

I think it would be even funnier if you do it on lvl14 with all power gear. Thats what I did on my little necro, it had 2000k power with all green mighty gear.

lol yeah, there are many lvl 1 players out there.

I honestly feel a bit bad for the opponents in this video, lol. Some of them looked like they were LITERALLY doing nothing at all, except maybe moving around.

If anyone saw someone they knew get beat in this video, they will never hear the end of it, hahaha.

That guy with a legendary is truly amazing.

What’s the weapon set he’s using besides the shortbow? I’ve only played for 2 days but I really enjoy that playstyle.

most of those guys your versing dont engage you until they’re 75% hp and have already used their heals. Also they didnt use any CCs or stun breakers.

Yeah it can be true… I fought an asura melee ranger a few days ago, and i couldn’t see what’s he doing, he was so tiny (so, when he blocks or placing traps), while against other classes, you can see it pretty well.

Ranger is a great class for completely running circles around people who have little to no experience in PvP combat. And still Rangers wonder why they get nerfed time and time again? It’s usually people who have no idea what they are doing that speak out the loudest when they think scissors are overpowered and they are beaten playing paper. I’d argue mesmers make for a better class to 1v1 (and run circles around your enemy) but they start getting a lot better at higher levels due to traits. Rangers simply don’t have that many great traits, so your disadvantage at a lower level isn’t that much bigger.

Also a level 12 ranger that gets upscaled to 80 has just as strong pet as a normal 80 so in that respect rangers are much stronger than other upscaled classes or less weak depending on how you look at it.

My brother and I made that famous on Mordred. We ran around as a duo, Minstrel and Theurgist, ganking purples to level up.

I’ve seen stranger things in WvW.

Everyone was really bad in that video that you faced. Any player that has some of any skill could trash them.

General rule: I see either CoF-zerk-gear or a legendary item, I’m killing them first lol. Pick off the pugs/noobs first. Saw lots of both in this vid.

Agreed….it was amusing watching the ele panic and hit many of his uneeded cooldowns.. That warrior with the legendary was a PvE scrub just looking for a port for the jumping puzzle…. I laughed when I saw the thief open with a heartseeker spam on the pet…obviously he does not know how to play thief…

Still. It takes guts to go out there and want to kill players solo being that low of a level. Yes the system scales and compensates stats…but hardly to the point of making up for utilities. Thanks for the entertainment.

What’s bad about this is a lot of the players in the video were clearly PvE players; some were even AFK or getting a vista, and one was only downed because of another player interfering.

The bad part? Anet will take this as Ranger’s are ‘fine’. Thanks!

After doing the same thing with 4 different classes (ranger, engi, mesmer, necro), i can say, killing ppl with the ranger was the easiest. Obviously most of the lvl80s in the videos were really bad players, but still, with the other classes it was a bit or more harder to do it (i needed runes, shoulder, etc), and i cant win a single fight with a lvl10 thief (tho i gave up early).

But, i still think, if not the ranger class, the upscaling on this level is OP, as on higher lvl with more traits, utilites and elites the stats are so kitten that you cant win a fight which you could win on lvl10-12… it’s a bit strange.

Warrior and guardian might be easier, you could go all power, as you get vitality for being low level.
