MDG On By Accident (LOL)
Yes my friend uses it in a trap build and it synergizes well with nature magic. If wilderness survival wasn’t almost required outside of druid id try it with beast mastery too.
Bad Elementalist
I’d consider it if my pet was affected as well.
“Fortifying Bond baseline is a must” – problems.
There have been a few regulars that advocate for that trait. They tend to get told ’it’s not viable’ and then stop posting ideas.
I’ll have to give it a whirl. I feel the SB is in the same boat; it’s ‘common knowledge’ it isn’t viable, but I think that’s just because a lot of us don’t like the playstyle. I don’t think it’s unusable by any means, and it was even the metabattle ranger build right up till HoT release.

Pre HoT I would use SB with traps. Worked well. Only issue was me, the player, and forgetting the range deltas between bows Back with original borderland maps the ruins created perfect short range and trap opportunity. I think weapon set was SB/Axe/Torch. I was using sword but I’d end up killing myself be leaping off some of the higher points on the map
Always worth a party invite later with the opponent chuckling.
If I wasn’t so comfortable with my current set up (lazy) I’d be willing to give it another go.

so ive been “testing” LOYF these days. just now i noticed a neat 25 stacks of might as i was stomping a dude after a close fight. wtf? i guess i had MDG on by accident.
using a pretty evasive build with high vigor uptime i guess i took for granted how long i was staying alive below 50% hp. MDG builds up really quick and synergizes with TU, as it doesnt heal you to full instantly. so i look at the 20 stacks of bleeds i have on the guy and theyre ticking for 3.7k >.<
for extra lols, downstate bleed procs with 25 stacks of might arent too shabby either.
#mdgnewmeta
Post us a build, I’m curious.
I for one believe the MDG needs a high Vit build to work so you have more room to work with regarding the threshold.
I was regulary using MDG in a celestial build with hoelbrak runes for pvp before the expansion hit, with sword and dagger on one set to evade around.
Quickdraw always ended up being the better choice imo when picking skirmishing, but MDG isn’t as horrible as some people want it to be. Not after the buff and after people have settled with the how they moved it into gradmaster tier. I still think master tier is where it belongs, but there are other misplaced traits in that specialization line aswell.
It still annoys me the most is that it is essentially an abolished necromancer trait, though.

yeah the trait is surprisingly interesting, and seems to work well with evasive builds.
@sticker i was experimenting with skirm/wilderness/NM, rabid, sb/s/d or s/t.
