[UPDATE] I just finished a new roaming video with my engi friend taking on a TC guild

I’m using madking runes so its a power bleed build and its a lot of fun. about 2k power 900 condition. if people like the video at all ill load another

thanks for the compliment Jim Hunter, its very rare if someone asks me what my build is I guess I mostly get labeled as a condi ranger even though im more power guess its just the 25stack of bleeds

pretty nice gameplay. Have you ever thought about using torch and flamelegion runes instead?

I haven’t tried it. right now i’m just obsessed with trying to stack max bleeds and ive come to find out that madking runes with entangle and hunters call is insane (what I mean is ive never tried the flame legion runes, but I do love torch when I run a full condi build)

Love it. I actually run a Mad King build myself, but it’s LB and S/D with less condi damage and more power. The rangers’ ability to stack bleeds is so incredible that even with 500 condition damage, you’re still applying some serious pressure.

I find most players don’t expect someone who’kittenting hard at 1.5k range to be able to hit 20+ bleeds stacks. And I’d say that more than half the people I talk to after an encounter assume I’m running a condition build.

I did try out lb with these runes and something felt off to me, it could be just that im stuck in my ways with the axe/horn. or maybe it was because I was still using 02660 what build did you use with lb?

One little known thing is that the mad king runes hunters call will hit multiple invisible targets (normal hunters call will only hit if you started before they went into stealth and only one target). It’s great to know the position of all the stealthed targets running at you by just looking at the birds animation.

also retaliation is a huge counter to my build because of the birds from call and entangle…. sooo much hurt.

LughLongArm got it right on the nose with traits but stats I use alittle more power and food I use is power with condi duration

What exactly is the point of going Mad King? I assume you need precision so you get the bleeds on crit but when I tested the birds might give 5 bleed stacks if lucky. The rune birds are a lot more effective than the warhorn birds.

I guess my question is why take this over a pure condi ranger with krait runes that can stack bleeds better and is far tankier too?

Well I choose madking because I don’t want a pure condi build. When I use hunters call, The birds usually do about 3k damage and then bleeds get to about 12ish just from that skill alone plus I just like using something that not everyone else is running. also ive come across too many diamond skin ele’s that a full condi build would be shut down. but hey to each their own really

Melee really is the superior way to play Ranger. I never cared for pew pew LB, don’t know how people enjoy it either. Sword is just too much fun once you pick it up. Everyone who’s crying the AA is broken is missing out on our best weapon.

Also about all the TC’s chasing you ~ exactly why I left T1. Try to do anything solo and you get chased across the map by half a dozen people that will chase you to the ends of the earth.

Nice video, though. I always enjoy watching Rangers that make good use of their sword.

Hey hey, pretty solid gameplay. I haven’t seen anyone really use Healing Spring that well in a while.

My IGN is S H A D O W F A L L. I remember fighting you, haha. I was running power ranger at the time and had to disengage as soon as you opened with wh4. It applied around 9 or so bleeds right away. :P

Thank you for the kind words, As far as LB rangers, I don’t mind them as long as its only one or two here and there but when a whole guild jumps on their ranger you know there’s something not right. It’s like no one realizes there’s tons of different builds for ranger that are pretty good. I have a melee build 26600 GS sword/axe maybe ill work on another video to show how much fun/hard that build can be sometimes.

On the first vid, how did you blast that HS while you canceled WH 5?

blast finisher goes off at the start of the channel, that’s why you can blast while cancelling the skill =)

what I think is happening is the animation is going off but I don’t think the actual heal works id have to watch the video again to see if i’m actually getting heal from it, but its just from playing too fast at times I need to wait for the skill to go off before doing something else. I do that all the time on engi and it drives me crazy

Yeah I have that problem too. I have the timing down for most rangers skills where it is now just muscle memory but occasionally you get that WvW skill delay that throws things off and you end up canceling skills before they do any damage.

Wait, so you can blast HS, cancel WH 5, and then blast again, and repeat?? I gotta try this when I get home

Honestly I’m not even sure if it heals the first time if you cancel #5 horn and do it again, And if it does I really am not trying to exploit it. The skill just takes too long to go off sometimes haha.

You can go with sharpening stone over bleeds on crit if you want. I just think bleed on critical works better with hunters call and bleed sigil added to that as well. but also like you said once the update hits we will get that trait free anyway

i am trying to run a hybrid build with longbow with mad king rune set its a balance of power and condition damage. with some crit to trigger stuff and empower direct damage further. I wanted the info in the link to portray what it is during combat so did it with 25 stacks of perception and 10 stacks of might, add another 5 stacks if your at or below 50% health. There is actually a huge focus around triggering entangle so to trigger mad king ravens , and 90%bleed duration and 55% generic condition duration. to make entangle stronger i took traits : hidden barbs to increase damage from the bleeding by 20%, and wilderness knowledge to reduce its cd( but also allows it to 43move 2 conditions off me and applies fury when its used too.) Steady focus also helps if endurance is full for both the raven damage and the direct damage from entangle. also boosted pet condition damage by +300, and pet condition duration by 20%. i picked lynx because before changes they did the most damage of any pet, and now with changes there damage is insane, and carrion devourer for a ranged pet/tanky pet and does decent condition damage as well as applies poison field. Tell me what you think.
