Thematically I love axe. With the recent buff it saw back on July 26 is there any power builds where axe comes into an acceptable range comparatively to other power weapons i.e. with in single digit percentages? If anyone out there has done the path on it post changes(2 bounces +40% base dmg). Or am I stuck going condi and grinding out viper armor?

I’m not someone who tests a lot and see if one weapon beats another weapon with 1 % dmg-wise. I leave that to others and just look at the results.

But I think in PvE HoT meta-events and dungeons and maybe not-hight tier fractals main hand Axe can do well in power builds. It’s range isn’t very big, but if it’s your only ranged weapon and you want to keep enemies at bay, you can bring a snare besides axe#3 (spike/frost-trap, muddy terrain) too, maybe together with signet of stone and/or lightning reflexes if you want an escape.
