Make having a pet interesting
It’d make it so ranger pets are even worse, at least when you first get them. I’d rather see ANet make it so that having a pet-companion actually means something. Make us work to tame that pet. Make it so we spend enough time taming it that we form an emotional attachment to the little bugger.
Not just: ‘Go find him in that zone over there, and he will magically obey you and fight to the death for you.’
NO. Pet training and unlocking their skills would be extremely annoying. Spending time to tame it sounds better, something like how you got the Black Moa in GW1.
There are over 40 pets training them would be a pain as it is ranger have to go into the world and seek out their pets. While this is fun on your first char I can see how it can be an annoying hindrance for alts.
I also would rather they work on other issue with the ranger other that working on fluff.
everyone should fear becoming mentally clouded and obsessed with one small section of truth.
With new trait system change I can’t see what would be the problem of “pet training”.
I mean, it could be very simple : Unlock some things for your pet via defeating some challanges, specific beasts. If you don’t want to train your pet by yourself, go the the trainer and buy these things. Simple as that.
Doesn’t fix Player-Pet connection however.

This would mean it would be more costly to be a Ranger. Unless they released similar content for other classes I would not be in favor of it. If they going to spend the time to do all of that I rather they spend the time on more pressing issue rather than fluff.
