This is a topic to let loose about what elite youd like to have for your ranger. your free to be very serious or not be serious at all ill start with a few idea
Stampede – shout (not inspired from world of warcraft at all)
Cooldown: 2 minute
Duration: 15 second
Both your pet are fighting at the same time and attack twice as fast
Glass munition – survival (based on GW 1)
Cooldown: 1 minute
Duration: 1 minute
Your projectile cannot be blocked inflict additionnal damage and inflict bleeds on the next 25 strike
Brutal strike – Shout (Based on GW 1)
Cooldown: 45 second
Duration: None
The pet deals a heavy damaging attack, if the target health was under 50% this ability recharge twice as fast
Trapper focus – Trap
Cooldown: 1 minute
Duration: 30 second
All trap recharge twice as fast and trigger 3 more time
Symbiosis – Spirit
Cooldown: 2 minute
Duration: 1 minute
For every boon the character is affected with it gains + 300 vitality
trigger – grant protection retaliation regeneration and stability to everyone within 1200 of the spirit for 15 second 20 second cooldown

- 120 Second Cooldown (96 seconds with Trap Potency trait), 1/2 Second Activation.
- Damage per pulse ::: 75
- Poison per pulse ::: 2s (168 damage)
- Duration ::: 5 seconds.
- Spore Duration ::: 10s

- Healing Coefficient ::: 0.1 (125 healing at 0 Healing Power, 225 at 1000, 325 at 2000) (with 5 infected foes, thats 600 hp per second for you and your pet at 0 healing power, and 1625 hp per second for you and your pet at 2000 healing power)

- Condition Damage Increased by ::: 33%
This Trap does a little damage, but that’s not the important part. The Important part is, is that you can use the trap to either get some extra healing in a tight spot, or you can increase the effective condition damage that all allies do to those infected enemies by 33%. An enemy can be infected with a spore for up to 10 seconds, and you can toggle between using either skill after the trap triggers.
Merciless Trap – Set a trap that, when triggered, knocks down (2s) and weakens foes (10s). Scales about as equal as Maul in direct damage. 60s cool down. When traited with Trappers Expertise, gains the hidden benefit of blinding struck foes for 5 seconds.
Signet of Unity – Passive – You and your pet grant health to each other when attacking. 125 base health. Active – If you or your pet is under 75% health, gain protection (6s) and heal (4000 base). If your pet is dead, it is revived to full health. 1/2 second casting time. 60 second cool down.

Smoke Bomb
Trap
Place a smoke bomb that’ll detonate when an enemy triggers it causing 10s of 5 stacks of confusion and 10s of 5 stacks of torment, it also leaves a haze of smoke that blinds for 1s every 1s and is a smoke field.
Enraged Lunge
Shout
Command your pet to strike your target, and all targets near him for a massive amount of damage, the damage is increased by 10% for each skill you and your pet have on CD (with a cap).
Signet of Camouflage (180 seconds cooldown)
Passive: Grants stealth to you and your pet for 10 seconds every 10 seconds, while out of combat. A tree grows where you disappear into stealth. If a tree is destroyed, the signet activates.
Active: Grants stealth to your pet for 5 seconds.
The tree looks like a Healing Seed. It lasts 10 seconds and has minimal health. PvE mobs will see the tree as a hostile target and destroy it.
This signet allows the Ranger to get the jump on another character, but only if his trees aren’t spotted. The tree also prevents the Ranger from hiding in stealth permanently inside WvW structures. A destroyed tree would cause the signet to go on its long 3 minute cooldown, which would force the Ranger to come out of hiding.
If a tree is destroyed, your pet remains in stealth for 5 more seconds, which would leave your pet unknown to the enemy for a bit longer.
If you have the Signet of the Beastmaster trait, you can also get the 5 extra seconds of stealth when a tree is destroyed. It would also allow you to go into stealth while in combat, so it becomes a good escape tool, but it has a very long cooldown.
I think this could work. Seriously. It only really works outside of combat and the trees give it a serious weak spot that you can’t ignore. Signet of the Hunter might be a more appropriate name.
Signet of Savagery [Elite] (120-second cool down)
Passive: 10% chance per hit to grant pet increased attack speed. Duration is 6 seconds and can stack. Applies only from ranger’s attacks.
Active: 10% chance per pet hit to grant you increased attack speed for 20 seconds. Duration is 6 seconds and can stack. Applies only from pet’s attacks.

Become One [Elite] (180-seconds cool down – lasts 30-seconds)
Become one with your pet. Your Pet stats and your stats will be put together. You do not regenerate endurance while in the beast form.
“Quiet, Now” – Shout – You and your pet gain stealth*
*note – Actually the jaguar stalk ability. 60s CD.
hey thats a nice idea ranger has 1 actual real stealth for its whole build that shout could make it interesting for pvp situation. better yet you could keep attacking while stealthed for a few second this would give ranger the edge in pvp it never actualy benefited from.
Signet of the Moon
Passive – Your Pet inflicts 3s Blind every 8s.
Active – For 15s, every attacks grants your pet 5s of retaliation. 90s CD.
Signet of the Sun
Passive – Your pet inflicts 2s burn every 5 attacks.
Active – For 15s, every attack grants your pet 10s of might for 10s. 90s CD.
hey thats a nice idea ranger has 1 actual real stealth for its whole build that shout could make it interesting for pvp situation. better yet you could keep attacking while stealthed for a few second this would give ranger the edge in pvp it never actualy benefited from.
It would also solidify them as THE ranged prof because that would make them insanely powerful at range because it’d be very very very hard to counterattack them.
Wall of Thorns: Summon an unpassable wall at your feet. Anyone that passes through it (stability) is immobilized for 1 second. Projectiles cannot pass through it.The wall can be destroyed and has 50,000 health. Duration: 10 seconds. 1min cooldown.
Signet of the Pathfinder: You and 5 players by you have the duration of cripple, chill, and immobilize reduced by 50%. On activation you gain a skill based off your main hand weapon. 30 second cooldown.
Shortbow: Your next 3 attacks cause 2 seconds of burning.
Longbow: Take aim at a target for 1 second before releasing your arrow hitting for critical damage.
Axe: Your next 5 attacks will also cast richochet (ie. you’d throw 2 axes if auto attacking).
Sword: Swifly lunge forward hitting all those in your path (like the Warrior’s Greatsword skill #3).
Greatsword: Stab your foe through the chest pinning them to the ground for 4 seconds, immobilizing them.

I’d say also make it apply 5stscks of bleeding to anyone who touches the wall, would make for some nice synergy with fear and point blank shot to just smash people into our wall of thorns lol

Not only that, but it can be traited for lower cooldown, provides utility as an escape or a stealth stomp/res.
What about
Snake stance – Survival
Cooldown: 1 minute
Duration: 10 second
Provide the ranger and the pet a 50% cooldown reduction on all abilities, put healing on cooldown cannot benefit from quickening zephyr
Tiger stance – Survival
Cooldown: 1 minute
Duration: 10 second
Provide the ranger and the pet a 20% damage bonus to all ability as well as quicken, put healing on cooldown
Serpent reflex – Survival
Cooldown 20 second
Duration 6 second
Gives the ranger swiftness and block all strike while still enabling attack
Electric Trap Trap
Set a trap that damages and stuns foes per pulse. Lasts 3 seconds and pulses 3 times. Combo Field: Lightning
Signet of the Sun Signet
Passive: 10% chance to Blind foes that attack you for 3s. Active: Surround your pet in sunlight for 10s. Blinds and Burns foes near your pet every second for 1s per tick. When the sunlight dissipates, damage and stun nearby foes.
Never Rampage Alone Transform
Merge with your pet, gaining Might (5), Fury, Swiftness, Stability, and a passive bonus based on the pet you merged with. Lasts 20s. You keep the same weapon and utility skills, but removes your pet from the field while this is active. Any skill that affects your pet used during this time will affect you instead. When the transformation ends, you lose all active effects and boons.
Pin down – shout
Cooldown: 60 second
Duration: 30 second
- Your pets next 3 attacks knock down target
- Knockdown: 2s
