Guild Wars 2

Hi,

I have been trying hard to play all sorts of builds and weapons to figure out what is the best of the best in terms of kill speed and survivability. At 40 I found the following to fit the bill perfectly:

Marksmanship: 10 I (10% extra damage when endurance is full)
Skirmishing: 5
Wilderness: 10 VI (Survival skills recharge 20% faster)
Nature Magic: 0
Beast-mastery: 5

Shortbow / keep changing second set to learn
Muddy Terrian or Flame Trap
Quickening Zephyr (I can’t say enough good things about this utility, its amazing)
Signet of the Wild
Rampage As One

Cave Spider
Forest Spider

Spider give chain immobilize, after one casts it switch to the other it will almost immediately cast another, guys that is SIX SECONDS of your target immobilized!

I plan on getting the trait that cripples when F2 is used which leads to a continuous cripple on target! The only other pet I think is amazing CC wise is Wolf right after you switch it does a 1 sec cast fear.

QUESTION:

For some one at 40 who figured out that the above build is what he enjoys the most, how do you think I should proceed?

Taking marksmanship to 20 to pick up piercing arrows isn’t a bad start, though I personally dislike the marksmanship tree. If you intend to continue using signets, I would consider replacing steady focus with signet mastery. Taking beast mastery to 15 to pick up loud whistle will increase your quickness uptime by a significant margin. It will also make your pets a little tougher.

Other than that, just experiment. I still reset my traits every now and then, so I can try out new builds.

honestly at this point, the ranger can be considered OP in wPvE. that being said, do what you want to do. pretty much everything is viable at this point.

I highly recommend going 20 marksmanship for piercing arrows. It is absolutely amazing for pve.
