Might-Stacking Quickness Ranger
Looks like a decent solo pve build as well.
Pretty close to what I’m already running. I’ll definitely be running something similar
Honestly, sword/wh provides very little pressure even with 25 stacks of might. You lack a block, any type of escape or gap closer and 0 cc on that weapon set. I’d rather have GS with 0 stacks. You also only have 2 condi clears here, which means you will get rekt really fast by anyone with condi damage (basically any ele, engi, necro or guard these days).

2 is fine, if you need more than that throw on a generosity sigil.
I have almost exactly the same build but I was trying a more defensive version with trooper runes and in games with lots of condi I also took evasive purity over windborne I feel it works very well.

Meh, I was carrying with this build in top mmr when we got the WHaO buff for like 2 days. It works better in practice than u think. Some version of this build will probably be competitive, if not just hella fun. It’s just another way of playing the power ranger, not to mention it wrecks your standard lb/gs builds 1v1 because it just does insane sustained damage.
Sword is just fine defensively with the two evades, I’d just have to watch my positioning and pick my targets. Mobility is decent with hornet’s sting, superspeed and perma swiftness.
What you don’t understand is that hunter’s call ticks with 25 might stacks on both you and your pet, along with sword AA and stability outputs way more pressure and sustained deeps on a single target than GS. Swoop/maul will at most give you 7.5k if they both hit, and then u gotta switch back to LB for pressure. With my bird, sword and quickness I can put out roughly 5k dps until I gotta back out. Just try it on a golem and you will at least be convinced of how much damage it puts out.
It’s basically a nuking build. Pick your target, careful with positioning, and get out with QZ.

For sure. U can go pretty defensive with this. Celestial ammy would work and strength runes aren’t even necessary.

You might like something closer to what I posted for WvW roaming when they first changed WHaO. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQJATRnUqA9CilsAusActghMhyT8Eox/aYBm4OZDgD4gVJeA-TFDEABLqOie6AuUlACeAAbpE0gLBATKzmUFjmUa0mmgk2fAgjAAhAMvAA-w
I probably will end up swapping NM for skirmishing in WvW. NM is great in PvP where you have to fight over a point, but quickdraw is just so much better in WvW.
they will have to tone down the base damage, otherwise the f2 will do about 10k damage with all the might stacks, and the dps will be absolutely insane with quickness. the build includes the bristle =)
Really…? You want them to tone down the damage of an already weak pet based on the damage it might do fully buffed? Come the kitten on, people.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
and virtually unlimited on-demand quickness
Unlimited how? Please explain.
Bountiful Hunter would just be flat out better in this build.

depends on how selfish you want to be. Allies aid with quickness is pretty amazing.

Flat out better than Instinctive Reaction, which is what OP’s build is using. He gains nothing from that trait except three seconds of random quickness here and there, compared to a permanent 2-5 % damage boost.
Allies’ Aid is the obvious support option.

Yup, you won’t get an argument from me on that one.
Have been running this build. I don’t think you can justify not running GS though. Yes, sword has an evade and leap but the GS set has a much higher impact on survivability. 2 condi removal skills is weak and even weaker if both have actually a very distinct purpose (stunbreak, dmg spike) that you want to keep them for.
With this build you will want to stay on longbow 90% of the time. Skilled enemies will have no problem bursting you down in coordinated focus once your SoS is gone. Will win games if people don’t deal with it so in uncoordinated solo queue games it will shine.
Rating: 7/10 Very glassy interpretation of the power ranger archetype. Works well in a less coordinated environement. Not usable for high level play.
the cool thing about WHaO is that you will be able to instantaneously transfer 25 stacks of might to your other pet after swapping.
It’s 3 stacks.
If you’re planning on keeping Jungle Stalker just to transfer 25might, to Bristleback, then the build is already over.
Uhm they changed it back with hot release to transfer all stacks, not just three.

no, sir. you are the one who is over, based on your disconnect from the reality of upcoming changes.
also, I’m just curious: how are you guys intending to play might stacking builds without using WH and/or MH axe? I understand the feedback regarding GS vs sword, and I partially agree, but you cant stack 25 might without the warhorn or axe. this build is basically about permanently stacking 25 might and then going to town on people.
You can easy stack 25 might with signets or just maximizing all other sources.
Just pet swap with clarion bond and the grandmaster in beastmastery will put your pet at 6 stacks or 12 with nature magic which will put you at 18 if you WHAO.
But honestly the signet build does it best.

actually I was just playing around and Companion’s Might + SotP should do it, but that will require us to not go for Resounding Timbre.
this is an interesting discussion and if you’ve got other ideas, put em out.

Ye companions’t might kind of adds stacks but the trait itself is really kittenty due to the low duration and atleast for sPvP running the reduced cooldown on shouts is much more important in a build with WHAO.
Furthermore the ability to basically spam SOTP makes it a legit part of the calculation imo. It adds up.

New to the game, have a level 37 ranger, this sounds intriguing – how does it work (getting the boons rolling, that is?)
Pet management > using strenght of the pack plus Pet( when it is swapped it gains (zyphers speed beastmastery) superspeed and quickness).
if you are far away from the target the pet will loose x amount of time to attack due to travel distance which means less might because of the short duration.
so each time your pet attacks it grants might to you and vise versa , quickly attacking with fast rapid attacks builds might Fast which then can be timed (till the end of the boons duration )
from that point use Heal as one to Extend/refresh that might taken from the pet (12seconds on average) this means you’ll gain 15-25might for x amount of time (if you have nature magic using fortifying bond that might gained from heal as one is then transfered back to the pet also , this basicly means the pet will become a might source always have 15-25might on access, IF you time the boon durations and cooldowns correctly.
but please don’t go use Heal as one very moment its off cooldown , you’d want to time and sustain might+heal for a counter attack using the Zyphers speed methord to put consistant might+damage/pressure .
aka once the ball is rolling the might builds up if you get interrupted or the pet dies the Roll stops reducing your Might and damage pressure.
apart from that , i’d suggest Reading the tooltips and the traits effects then piece it together as Rangers are far more complex in terms of Maintaining effects then just Use X combo all the time.
if you trigger
Edit that Zypher speed Quickness + might though you can gain the super speed if you pick Celestial shadow on the druid trait line which grants the pet superspeed then again heal as one to Extend the boons If the target is too far away the extra 2seconds of super speed can cover a lot of ground.
Looks interesting. gonna give it a try
