Most Common LB Power Ranger Build
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fNAQJATRjMqUxaDLmsw1ag+ga9DEAjdzfYGYWBfQJuyK-w
should be one of the more common Setups for the bandwagon rangers =)
Extremly weak to conditions and after blowing up burst and SoS fodder.
Full zerker max dmg gear of course, just don’t have the Patience to add it >.> I’d say ranger or traveler runes mostly.
Covenant of Bloodthirst [IvsI],
Favorable Winds [Wind]
Hepas build is pretty common. A more dangerous, experienced LB ranger would be using signet of renewal for a passive condi cleanse as well as 100% condi removal on a condi bomb. Lightning reflexes would also be there for stun/immob break as well as added mobility. Probably sword/dagger swap for extremely high evasion and mobility. The pets would be more dangerous, like a wolf for cripple, knockdown and AoE fear, drakehound for AoE immob, jungle spider for poison and very long immobs.
The inexperienced rangers can be killed extremely easily via pressure, condis, CC, and reflects. More experienced rangers just need to be outplayed like any other profession (although condi and pressure are still the best options there.)
This is my build, I run it significantly differently with more condition cleanse and less spike damage from utilities. I also don’t run full zerk because I like living longer.

I’ll swap the first marks trait in and out for other things, bleed or +dmg on end full (solo pve usually – or things that can’ t be crit), the cripple is there for roaming and spvp.
The goal is to stay at range longer with personal mobility and mobility denail. I have no idea how ‘meta’ this is, probably not top tier, but is effective.

I’d imagine this would be a pretty typical one trick pony thing:

I use (looks familiar?) for ranged support:

or a less selfish build with cleanse and soft CC

I don’t really do much damage (maybe 7-8k rapid fires?) as I don’t roam on ranger but usually beat other LB rangers pretty handedly in a firefight, lol. Though I don’t really count bow ranger kills as kills, typically. And yes, I use melandru because ranger active condi removal = lol. I’ve also used pure zerk after the patch to test out the hype with max dps builds and the ones I listed above as well, and well, meh, that’s just not for me— at least against people that don’t have a broken dodge key.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

My variation of longbow ranger that I was running even before the latest changes, it just became a bit more powerful and is quite similar to those above. The Omnomberry Pie gives me 348 health regardless of what the wiki says. With piercing arrows that adds up quite nicely and keeps me in good health even among big fights. Only trouble I’m having with is the cheese p/s condi hybrid engi. They just heal too much and do too much damage. With the survivals I pretty much laugh at conditions.

So there you have it, the flavor of the month for rangers.
That’s a good build.
I’m wondering what the purpose of Keen Edge is. Would the bleeds beat out steady focus or more invul uptime?
And holy crap, I didn’t even know there was a pet that grants swiftness! Does it cast out of combat?

Keen edge counts as a survival skill for SotF.
Oh wow, I guess that is really strong!

It doesn’t cast out of combat, but usually it’s the first skill the birds cast when entering combat. So you could select a target, send your bird to attack so they would give the switness, and as soon as that, call them back so they wouldn’t actually attack. All birds have that Quickening Skreech skill (Raven, Hawk, Eagle, Owl)
Also, the selected target shouldn’t be too far or too close – if it’s too close, the bird might attack too fast for you to stop it – you enter combat – run slower.
If it’s too far, the bird might go closer and cast the swiftness too far from you and you don’t get the buff at all.
