Muddy Terrain without trap traits?
Muddy Terrain isn’t technically a “trap” skill. It’s just an aoe-targetted survival skill.
I personally don’t use it, however.
Muddy Terrain is a Survival skill, so it isn’t affected by Trap traits.
It’s a good skill though, and a good way to go if you’re not looking at Traps for your utility support, but still want a tool to help you kite. It’s a little longer recharge, but it goes full immobilize. It also lasts a while, so if you can keep the mobs in there, you can have a lot of effective uptime.
Same. It is unaffected because it is a Survival skill not a Trap skill. With a full trap build I prefer the Ice trap over Muddy Terrain.

Yup.
Yes, those traits that lower the Survial CD’s would be beneficial for Muddy Terrain.

I run Muddy Terrain a lot, it’s a great cc that doesn’t require traiting into traps. Meaning I’m still able to trait myself into full direct damage, pick up Lightning Reflexes, Quickening Zephyr, get them all with cooldown reduction, and still be a benefit to the team survival.
