My Longbow 2 cents.
apparently you never played ranger in GW1
not that i disagree with you, but in GW1 AB, if you’re playing a ranger with a longbow on elevated terrain, the arc would be too big, you’d be lucky to land a few shots unless you had preparations or spirits.
and don’t get me started on flatbow.

My Longbow 2 cents : Is bad
The only thing that can justify longbow existing and being acceptable as a viable ranger weapon is barrier.
Shortbow is still king. More overal dps, better utility and mobility with it.
I don’t think the LB is bad (combine it with tourch and the flaming arrows from a keep can be pretty effective), but then I don’t think it’s great either. Some love it though. Personally I’d rather see barrage replaced with a sniper shot like attack that is charged and hits very hard, but then that would remove our main and pretty much only AOE.
Long Range Shot is broken, and I’m 99.9% certain that it fires more slowly than it was designed and balanced to, and that the dev/QA people are somehow still oblivious after 6 months even though it’s as plain as day.
It’s not just Long Range Shot either, it’s the LB animation, the same problem affects the Warrior’s Longbow (you’ll notice that the #1 skill does laughably poor DPS). It also affects Pistols, Staffs, and Scepters. Get it together Anet.
