I guess I’ll start out by saying I dont expect any or most of these be implemented into the game tomorrow or ever but this is a nice little wish list I thought of for changes I would like to see for the ranger. I definitely don’t think ALL of these should or need to be implemented to balance out the ranger but I would be happy to see atleast a few. I tryed to focus mostly on where I personally feel rangers need help and the devs seemed to think so too and thats shout/signets/spirits/and power based builds.

“Guard” – if nothing else got buffed tomorrow this honestly be the #1 thing I’d like to see happen and that would be for Guard to work more like the necromancers flesh wurm. After casting the skill you would be able to teleport back to your pet by hitting the skill a 2nd time, breaking out of stun and potentially becoming invisible and/or critting on your next hit. This would give rangers huge potential as a side point bunker.

“Sick em” – grants some sort of buff to the user, either invisiblity or even 5 seconds of stability could make this skill really viable

“search and rescue” – pets revive the downed ally 20-25% faster

Signets – ranger signets right now don’t make sense as im pretty sure rangers are the only class that has signets that don’t actually do what they are supposed to do, which is grant them a passive trait and a stronger skill when used; right now they just grant the pet a buff when used and have to be traited to actually be really useful. My thought would be to give signets half or part of the buff to the player when they are clicked. For example signet of stone would grant 3 seconds of invulnerability to the player and 6 seconds to the pet(if this skill did 6 seconds of invulnerability “protect me” would be somewhat useless unless that skill was buffed as well ex. 8 second duration or break stun). Signet of the wild would grant stability and damage to the pet but the players damage would only slightly increase or potentially not increase at all and just give stability.

Signet of the wild – decrease cooldown from 120 to 90
Signet of stone – decrease cooldown from 120 to 90
signet of the hunt – bring this up to par with the thiefs “signet of shadows” increase the 10% movement speed to 15% and both you and your pets next attack does 150% damage

Spirits – Increase the aoe of spirit active skills slightly and increase spirit health by 50-75% also potentially increase the 20% chance for effect to 25%

pets – my biggest complaint for pets is the pets that have an f2 skill that is aoe or support requires the pet to run to the target before casting. When I click f2 for my fern hound to use its regeneration I dont want him to run away from me first…..honestly how this works right now is just kitten It’s the same story for a lot of the other pets and it needs to be fixed

Drakes – not that I would likely ever use a drake either way but their f2 skills could really use some love. Either remove the casting time completely or make it atleast turn to face its target when it casts.

LONGBOW!!!! – increase the damage, speed, or effectiveness of pretty much all of the longbows skills. I wouldn’t mind a 5-10% damage increase all across the board and a increase in the speed of rapid fire. Maybe add something to hunters shot because it just seems so boring as it is right now, either a huge damage increase or a debuff (blind or confusion possibly?) or a short buff such as a small swiftness buff for the player as well or 4 seconds of vigor.

GREATSWORD!!!! – basically the same thing with longbow in that I wouldn’t mind 5-10% buffs all across the board. Adding something to swoop would be nice like a 4 second swiftness afterwards or 4 seconds of fury or might. Counterattack I THINK but im not 100% sure right now only pushes back the foe that hit you and a nice little knockback for all foes right in front of you would be nice. Maul as a blast finisher maybe? would give potential for throwing down a healing spring or bonfire on offhand.

TRAITS

Marksmanship-
lX beastmasters might – pretty sure it only grants 1 stack of might for a short duration?? duration should be increased and might stacks increased to 3
X Eagle eye – increase longbow and harpoon gun range by 10% instead of 5%

Skirmishing – no big complaints I can think of at the moment

Wilderness survival – no complaints

Nature Magic –
Xll evasive purity seems pretty weak for a grandmaster trait maybe if it also removed burning as well? or possibly just 1 random condition

Beastmastery -
Xl instinctual bond – kinda sucks I have to be basically dead for my pet to start doing real damage. Instead of petting gaining quickness once im down how about pets gain quickness when health drops below 20%
ll Masters bond – The bond is NOT removed after switching pets. possibly each pet has its owns seperate bond but it doesn’t reset if you switch back??

Well those are just some ideas I had that I thought would help us but like I said I wouldn’t expect all or any of them to be implemented and if all of them were added rangers might even be a little too strong . Let me know what you think and if you would like post what you are hoping for or would like to see in the future too. Original post was too long to put this in so had to make a second post.

TLDR – buff the ranger pleasseee!!!!

Besides the obvious need of doing something about pets I’d like something nice that makes rangers stand out, like a hawk-eye talent or something. Maybe be able to send and control a raven over a particular map and be able to see things like enemy troop movements.

Also maybe 1 skill on the raven, called “Bird Droppings” which only targets warriors and guardians with freshly polished armor.

I totaly agree with the speed and dmg on the longbow.The longbow is kinda slow.
