The crit%/cdmg is somewhat low because I personally have never preferred it. My playstyle has always been the tanky yet able to provide damage, and after several gold put down the drain into experimenting, I think I finally found the right build.

It’s mainly for frontline/midline WvWing, and I can do dungeons perfectly fine with this gear.

Let me know what you all think and what else I can improve on, the ascended accessories aren’t finished yet, but I have an idea of what I plan to do.

Oh also to add, I’ve always wanted as a requirement for me to have at least 20k hp,1.5k toughness, and 2k power.

The traits are aligned in so that I have enough survivability, since stability only lasts for 25s.. and with SoS mastery I can go in and out of fights taking little to no dmg, considering I have condition removal. It also sets me up for wolf fear, as well.

How are you doing in 1v1 fights? Also I don’t think investing in crit dmg at 21% crit rate is such a good idea.
What do you think about that?

I do well in 1v1 fights, usually never having trouble.

If I use my nutritions then I have around ~50-55% crit with my stack of accuracy as well

See I’ve already looked passed that build already, and as much as I like it, I feel like there’s not enough HP around it. Sure you have condition removal and what not, but I have practically almost on-par stats as you, with 2k-3k more hp. Crit/crit dmg as I’ve mentioned before aren’t that big of a deal to me, as my crit usually stays at a constant 45-55%.

Hey, look! A decent build for once. Only thing is that your crit chance is a little low, but you’ve made up with that with fury access from RaO and your sigils of accuracy. Not too bad imo. Though I would swap signet of stone out for protect me and would take off the 10 points in Nature Magic and take off 5 in marksmanship to invest into skirmishing to get fury on weapon swap.

You have 50-55% crit maybe when you use RAO. There are no points in skirmishing which gives 14% crit plus crit when you weapon swap. (Not saying I don’t agree with your selection as Empathic Bond pretty useful as a mid-liner). You have a Sigil of Force slotted.

With 2 precision boosting food you are at 33%. You also won’t have your stacks up 100% of the time as most of the time half the side dies in WvW which will likely include you as a mid-liner unless you are more of an archer or fighting undermanned foes.

I’m not saying that your way is not the preferred way to go, but saying you have almost the same stats as the alternative build is overstating things. You have more vitality and empathetic bond. That comes at a cost. There are no free lunches.

As far as 1 v 1 goes, you have no healing and low base crit so I can’t see you doing too well. This is not a major criticism as your build is not designed for it. Few builds are good at large scale fighting and 1v1.

Both your build and Kjel’s are similar attempts to create a viable mid-line ranger in larger fights. Kjel gets the skirmishing tree that gives +crit and crit damage which are nice. You pick up empathetic bond which is very useful but end up with +300 condition damage which helps on the shortbow but not on the greatsword.

to maximize your damage you should maybe swap maintenance oil for sharpening Stones and since you dont use on crit sigils or Food you wont lose any extra effects

I’m still not sure how you get 52% crit from a base 21%. I added +100 precision food and the best oil and you were at 33%. 250 stacks gets you to 45% (I added +250 from skirmishing tree – I assume they are equivalent). Any chance you are using Sigil of Accuracy which would bring you to 50%?

No, you forget Spotter gives you 150 precision.
