Good afternoon,

I am a lvl 58 Charr ranger carrying a longbow and a shortbow.

I do a lot of PvE and will look at doing dungeons in the future but mainly roaming around the world and doing world events and exploring etc.

Now when I went for my item build I went for power and precision as the main stats on them. I want to be doing big damage ankitten ot a huge fan of DOT.

Is this the right stats to be leveling?

Any help is appreciated.

You’ll probably learn how to play Ranger better if you use squishy stats like Berserker, or as you are using now, is it called Hunter at that level? Can’t remember.
Also, don’t be caught in the trap of only using bows, no real reason to dual bow, why not grab a Sword and Warhorn and practice with those too? Sword takes practice. Greatsword is good too.
Another trap is bears. They will take all agro, allowing you to just pew pew with your bow and kill anything, it will take longer, but it is cake. Try out feline/drake pets too, actually, just try them all out as you get them.

There are some really strong dual bow builds I’ve seen people run. I think they use Rampager or Sinister Amulet. That being said, I think the most enjoyable thing is to mix in either of the swords. I agree with Heim, to put everything into damage while leveling. Here are some other things you can try:

1. Use LB, and GS or SW/A (Keybind “Lock Auto-Target” and unselect Auto-Targeting)
* This way you can un-select target and use GS-3 or SW-2 to re-position.
2. Try Birds and Drakes for pets. Especially Snow Owl and River Drake.
3. Make sure to use Beastmastery for a while and get used to pet by allowing it to enter combat first. Also, keybind attack target and recal pet.
