Tag for when im home. How do you compare drakes dps vs cats / birds?

I’m liking Drakes a lot more after the patch….I still prefer Birds in my old Bunker Build with PI but since PI is trash now I don’t use Birds as much (because they were namely there for Vigor and the Burst hit)

Drakes help make up for the lack of AOE that I have without PI, I’m actually kind of starting to lean towards running the Jaguar + Riverdrake as my pet combo’s, This gives me a good Single Target Pet and a good AOE and Burst pet.

Outmanned buff. Specifically in WvW when your server is outnumbered by the other servers. This gives you a boost in magic find (20%), experience (33%), wvw exp (10%), and if you die your armor doesn’t get damaged.

I always viewed birds as a burst pet and cats as a consistent pet. Which bird do you think does the most dps if you dont pet swap and use F2 CD reduction? Owl with chill or raven for the big hit? Pets would have perma swiftness btw. I like cats but i think the 130 range auto attack really hurts and birds have a 300 one.

In my experience with pets (and I’m pretty sure this was tested recently) Canine pets have the most constant/stable dps. They don’t hit as hard but they stick on their targets a lot better than my cats/birds ever have. But to answer your question I was partial to the Snow Owl.

Yes the test showed that the cats needed at least speed of the hunt (25%) to beat canines in dps vs moving target but i plan to be melee so its not an issue for me.

If i wasn’t going to pet swap? Raven by far.

Not only does it hit harder, but its a blind which has potential to save a ton of damage on you.

If you’re thinking of using Raven with Sic’Em remember using the F2 from raven will cancel out Sic’em and you won’t get any benefit from it

Yah im aware of all the problemz with sic em but i still want to try it. My build will have 95%-100% crit chance on a cat or bird so i wont use jaguar. Comes down if i want chill from a owl or leopard or dps from raven or lynx. Cant decide.

I bloody love my drake, is riverdrake the one with lightning? that’s the one I use, he looks like a big frog so I named him Frogger I even had him in wvw today also although hitting that F2 is like winning the lottery.

I liked the D/P thief fight.

Those kittens imo with phantasm mesmer are the BM bunker’s hardest matchup by far.

Thats the average enemy you face. If recorded untik he found enough clips vs good enemies i think it would take a few months to maybe make a 10 min video and by then the classez would have changed and no longer really relevant.

Have you thought about re-binding your keys? I noticed your utilities are still binded on the original 6-0, for example you could bind your heal to Q and perhaps your elite to E, as you are not using the signets that actively anyways.

I’ve seen people do this before, I have to ask how do you strafe etc? I use both keyboard and mouse together for movement 1-5 is easily reachable from there 6-10 is on my mouse though.

I have 1-5 and pet buttons in their original places as they are easily reachable, but I struggled a lot with 6-0 and ended up clicking utilities (which can be really slow and in wubwub & spvp you need to be able to react fast). After I replaced Q and E with heal and elite (not too long time ago I switched E to be stunbreaker tho), I realized I didn’t even use those buttons for their original purpose at all. I also rebinded my autorun into mouse wheel which is pretty handy. Pun intended.
