Hello, everyone.

I made my build of ranger, using Longbow + Sword/Dagger, should i use on marksmanship (VII – Spotter + XI – Predator’s Onslaugh) or (X – Eagle Eye + XIII – Read of the Wind), or something different?

Consider i’m using sigils of Ice + Fire on Longbow and Energy + Force on Sword/Dagger respectively, with Predator’s Onslaugh i have permanent bonus damage.

For now i’m rotating around those traits, what do you guys think?

Which game mode are you playing? This will change the answers a lot.

In PvE, predator’s onslaught/spotter is very standard because of the massive damage you can do with the LB/sword combo. You don’t need range in pve. If you are farming open world events then you’d go piercing arrows instead.

In WvW small scale and duels, eagle eye+ read the wind is a very standard death machine build because your arrows are very accurate.

In WvW larger fights, Spotter is also very solid, and the other slot becomes a personal preference thing.

In PvP, I only have 1 game logged as a ranger, so I’ll let someone else fill that out, but I’d imagine read the wind would be strong there.

As far as traits go in TPvP for longbow Read the Wind is almost mandatory. I cant remember the last time ive seen a ranger not use it. Mostly becuase with out it over 50% of your arrows WILL miss if your going for max damage.

I dont pve as much with my ranger however so I differ to ArchonWing on that.
