So as far as I can tell there is only one trait that helps out an axe user, which is honed axes. Gives 10% bonus damage. That sounds ok, but meh.

What I really want is an increase to the bounces. Give me a trait spec that allows my axe attack to bounce up to 5 times.

Also on a side now, ranger really needs an attack speed trait. Everything besides the short bow is just sokittenslow unless you pop your steroid, but thats down quite often and inhibits healing so meh.

Rangers can have the most Quickness up time of any class if properly traited. No need for an attack speed buff.

My only gripe with Axes is that when you’re only facing one target they’re kinda underpowered. In group events they’re freaking awesome.

Quickening Zephyr is a pretty nice Utility to have, if you combine that with a Longbow’s Rapid Fire, it can deal some pretty huge burst.

Axes are fine IMO. Axe/Warhorn is a powerful combo allowing you to AoE efficiently and buff allies with your Warhorn Buff. The bounce is fine as well IMO, having sustained AoE like that in the first place is powerful. The trait only helps, too, but I don’t know how I feel about it yet. I use this as my secondary weapon set to close the gap on bursty AoE since I use Longbow as my primary. Longbow’s Volley is also a very powerful skill as well.

I am still only new and working my way through the game. I currently been using axe/torch to a pretty good effect. looking at it now warhorn maybe better because of the buffs, and I love it when the birds attack :P

I usually use a longbow as my other weapon for big long fights, Kol Skullcrasher for example last night as i can stay further away and still do maximum damage, even tho at 37-38 I wasn’t doing much.

I will play around a little more tonight.

@Hikeroar, keep in mind rangers ranged weapons are gimmicky!! When using an axe get an enemy near a wall or another enemy and you’ll do more damage, if you use ricochet at an enemy it will hit enemy, bounce off a wall, and hit them again its hilarious doing it to people in sPvP and watching them drop lol!
