Need help with Longbow in WvW
dont delete. just shelf it and wait for future buffs to rangers lol.
Its true the Ranger is useless in every aspect of GW2 now…
By all means re-roll to play another class (I haven’t played my Ranger since I saw the official patch notes) but don’t delete the character unless you need the slot…
Hopefully, in the months ahead the devs will see the complete train wreck that the Ranger is and address the problems…
Xorus (I think) posted a bow-zerging build just the other day I’ll go see if I can find it…
But other than that a few things are that the type of build you are trying to make is not going to be tanky so if you find yourself at the end of 15+ charging you its game over regardless of your armour/condition removal. You’d be better off maximising your damage and just positioning yourself away from the main hammer-spam of the zerg as to avoid dying that way.
Use a ranged pet and possibly keep them on passive in zerg battles, its they only possible way they will survive.
You dont have the armour to be going melee in a zerg battle so forget the GS and move 10 points from NM to WS, and take the GM trait which moves conditions to your pet.
Gunnar’s Hold
There we go.. maybe that will give you some ideas.
Gunnar’s Hold
Thank you all for answers. Running with guardian, warrior and engineer made me pretty confident in zerg fights, guess the first thing I need to do is to change mentality and avoid doing things I normally do in a fight. I’ve seen that build from Xsorus, the thing is I run 1350 condi dmg on my engineer and I’m looking for more variety, but I guess it’s not that bad idea and I might try it. Once again thank you and let’s hope rangers will get some love in future updates
I’m zerging only on rare occasions, but if you don’t want to go condition damage, then full zerker with 30/30/10/0/0 or 30/30/0/10/0 is really viable. LB + Axe/Axe, SotW, SotH, SoS. Your life insurance is nature’s protection, rejuvenation, and SoS. Red Moa (fury) + a ranged pet. SotW and SotH should be always used when not on CD (Axe #4 crit + opening strike + signet(s) right into the zerg makes some really nice damage). Well, you won’t contribute much with this setup, except for healing spring, but you do a “good” amount of damage to many enemies. Positioning is very important here.
Xorus build is for sure more nifty, and this one is the more clumsy approach, but you have damage and enough survivability here…
