Hey all. I haven’t played in a few years, so coming back with this new system threw me off a huge deal. So much, in fact, I decided to create a new character and start from scratch.

Here’s the issues I’m running into, so please see if you can help me out any if possible.

This is a rough rundown of my build. I’m only level kitten the armor will not match up. Just think of me having weapons and armor as condition primary, precision secondary, and my jewelry has a mixture of power precision and a touch of ferocity. Also, I have no toughness or vitality, and my back is some low grade piece with “ghost” in the title.

Right now, this setup is devastating when I run into a group of mobs, but it’s a painful drag when I’m going against creatures 1 at a time (minus vets and champs). The only reason I am currently running this route is for the massive amount of AoE I can do.

Should I continue this route for PvE? Or should I switch to a more power lined build?

Are their any issues with the build as I have posted, or should I just leave it as is and deal with it?

power is always better, greatsword has decent cleave so lb and gs is generally what people bring as a ranger.

You can find a lot of good builds here mate, check the Sinister Trapper at the bottom of the PvE section. Sword will make moving around and 1v1 a lot faster than MH Axe.

I’ve tried this with sword, and found the damage range to be lacking, and the jumping around to be way more destructive then helpful. I’ve also bought level 50 armor and weapons that are stated for power and precision, with the accessories focusing on ferocity. I have to say, it feels like it’s taking more time with single mobs running a level 50 power precision build then it was when I was attacking the same mobs using condition precision gear 10 levels lower. It’s odd.

I think once I hit level 60, I will run a build more like this one:

I don’t know what the soft/hard caps are in this game, but I feel with this build I can basically let my bear take everything while I dance around their flaming corpses. It looks interesting, because it’s hard enough to lower my bears health, but having bonuses to its toughness, healing, and regen, and to give it the ability to stack poison every time it attacks makes the need of my spider seem useless. Also this way, I really don’t need a lot of toughness for myself either.
