Heya guys, I’m not sure if a lot of these threads have been made!
But!
Do you think more pets will be added and if so, what would you like to see?

I would like to see a Phoenix :P

Keeping in line with the seriousness of this topic, I want a dragon pet.

It’d be cool to get a griffon.

A pet that grants on demand aegis. I vouch for the gríffon idea mentioned with a mix of feline and bird skills.

I actually thought a small Dragon would be rather cool!

I figured that since Orr was already in the game they could allow:
“Juvenile Orrian Chicken” – 3 seconds of Torment on single target.
“Juvenile Orrian Gorilla” – Ground smash, knockback 3 targets around pet.
(they may even be able to work it so there are “living” versions)

Southsun Cove also provides the possibility for a great pet:
“Juvenile Karka” – 2 stacks of area weaken.

A Rider. Wind Rider, Reef Rider… ranged support pet with a targetable F2 AoE skill with combo field (could give lightning field or ethereal field), depending on the Rider.

Did you know i was thinking about the same thing last week?

One thing i added to it, ranger/dragoon… it’s not a ridiculous idea at all, since thief and a ninja profession share many similar things; stealth etc….

I think if the pig gets hit by fire it should automatically turn into southern BBQ providing best in class food nourishment on an AE basis.

But seriously, I think several pet classes could be turned into a “food pet” (porcine and create another) option that would essentially provide the damage/stat of not having an active fighting pet.

Passive benefit BUT you have to keep it alive. Pet that does little but buff you.

A wolverine or dire bear pet that “frenzies” and periodically gains increased attack, attack speed and durability the longer it constantly fights.

A skelk pet that “blinks” behind a target and backstabs

A new ranged pet that’s either heavily support-oriented or damage oriented.

A pet bat for halloween

It would be nice to get an ‘ascended’ equivilent of each pet to offset the difference in gear coming with ascended armor, weapons, and trinkets. I often wonder if ANet has even acknowledged that pets don’t scale and their base health, armor, and power all need to be increased to keep up with changing times.

These two would be perfect!

Griffon would just look silly with so many running around. It would remind me of WAR when everyone moved from horse steeds to manticores etc. Way too many to make it not laughable. Skales and others seem reasonable.

I really, really want a lion, but when it come to Dragons and Griffons etc, even maybe lions, it just begs the question, why would you ever use another pet? kinda of too cool to compete with really imo anyway, which is why i think having them but as a kind of “Legendary pet” would be epic, kind of like the Rainbow Phoenix from guild wars 1. Pets that only become tamable at certain times or after certain things. Like when 3 rangers use call of the wild at the same time, they summon a Mist Wolf, make that a tamable legendary pet, but make it harder. so it is only tamable if players do it at night certain days of the month, at a certain place in Tyria. I really think the Legendary pet idea would be amazing, and add a much need deeper RP element to Gw2, also a type of character progression that would be fun instead of a grind. However i don’t think these pets should have different stats to their base families, maybe slightly unique F2 abilities but nothing that would make them better than any other pet, other than looks wise.

I just want a pet that gives AoE stabo.

Even if it’s like a 60 sec CD.

First of all, we have to think about pet types. Remember all pets follow species and groups.

If you say griffons, you have to think about adding the whole set of griffons (eagle, owl, etc). Griffons is a good choice because it adds a whole new species.

If we have to say 1 pet to add, it has to be one of the species we currently have. Like adding Rock Dogs as Canines. (This would be my choice).
