Hey all, so I’m new to the ranger I played a shortbow axe and warhorn, condition build yesterday and did alright, but I really want to try longbow power Crit build, anyone have anyone have any suggestions on a 2nd weapon, and possibly a build? I was thinking 20-30 in Crit, hide in plain sight, shared anguish, and arrow piercing trait, possibly 5 for QZ on pet swap, also anyone have any recommendations for pets, and utilities?
Thanks in Advance!
Long bows arent the best in pvp because of their bad auto attack and slow flighttime but if you want to try, i would recommend bringing qz for sure. qz with rapid shot and barrage is great. Also definitely put 5 points into beastmastery. qz on pet swap is ridiculously strong in pvp. pet swap right before you finish anyone for fast kills. If you do it right, you can kill most people before they have a chance to react. As for piercing arrows, you probably dont need it in pvp unless you are always fighting people clumped together. piercing arrows with point blank shot can be an awesome multitarget knockback if possitioned right. Anyway i apologize for my spelling. on my phone right now.
Like the guy above me said, it’s really not optimal for SPvP.
The problem with longbow is that you need clear space to fire and you benefit more by firing from a distance.. It’s much better suited for WvWvW.
Just use longbow for the skills it has. Every skill besides auto-attack on the longbow is useful depending on the situation. After you have exhausted your skills on longbow, switch to your 2nd weapon set and use that.
And yea, piercing arrows and point blank shot is awesome. #4 on longbow is my fav skill. Position yourself correctly and you can knock people off so many things. Lots of control.
