So I finally got this game, and I’ve always loved archers/classes that use bows, so I or course made a Ranger. I am human and I am only lvl 5, and have an axe and a horn currently. I was just wondering when or where I could get a bow? From what I’ve read a longbow sounds sweet, but anything would work I was going to just keep doing the story and stuff until I found one, but I have seen a few other rangers running around with them already. I’m sure this is probably a really dumb question, but sorry I’m new haha. Thanks!

In PvE, especially at lower levels any weapon is possible. Just try them all and see what you like. You can also purchase weapons from vendors or better yet the Black Lion Trading Company (BLTC). Just press O and go to the buy tab. Use the filter to look for a specific level and weapon type.

Just heads up, do not spend alot of money in BLTC. You level up quite fast.

But that also means non-lvl 80 exotic weapons tend to be cheaper and better stats then vendors. Just don’t overspend

Also do crafting, that gives you weapons (huntsman) and armor (leatherworking). At the same time you are leveling your crafting skills. A lvl 400 crafting skill allows you to get specific type of exotics you are looking for cheaper then other options (just ignore the look till you can get better looking exotics).

One thing to note. Ranger in terms of Guild Wars 2, is not so much the archer arch-type, as much as it does a naturalist, or protector of the natural world (hence pets, traps, muddy terrain, forest spirits, etc.). He has many ranged options, but so do most other classes.
