heyo,just started playing GW2,and was looking for some advice on my ranger.
im thinking im going to go sword and dagger/longbow,with crit focused gear,i would like to have a fair amount of survivability,and maybe some CC(traps etc) if anyones got any pointers on a kind of balanced build for me it would be much appreciated
You’ll find plenty of advice all around the place, but honestly, if you just started, you should just start with enjoying it yourself and discovering the weapons/skills/traits as you unlock them. It’ll be a little while until you unlock all utility slots, let alone the grandmaster traits.
If you are looking to use bows, you came to the wrong profession — hell, the wrong game even. Everything is balanced around what is doing well in PvP, and centered almost entirely around forcing players into melee range.
If you want to use sword or a more defensive greatsword role, you can do ok. Think of the current ranger as a tough character designed to play within the range of healing spring. Conditions will eat you alive.
