New pet AI bugs or nerf?
You have to tell them to attack someone then F2.
I think.
It’s a new bug feature (yay!!!) where a pet will not take your target when you swap it in, ending in allot of failed/floundering F2s and waisted quickness.
It’s always been like this. The only pet attacks that you can use when swapping+instantly pressing F2 are the jaguar and birds (might have missed another pet or two).
All others needs half a second or so to aquire their target first, before their F2 will work.
Ok so tested some more and bird attacks work now, strange.
That still leaves 2 problems…
1) Feline leap attacks miss straight after swapping to that pet (maybe others, not tested)
2) Attack delay after swapping pet (pet quickness from trait is therefore useless)
Here’s a video to illustrate what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjn6MUJX8bk
Oh and btw the leap attacks work as normal once they decide to start attacking the target, but I wanna be able to use F2 straight away with quickness.

I’ve noticed this as well, but I’ve circumvented it by just holding off on pressing f2 for a second after swapping, so that it’s not wasted. Wasting a second is better than wasting the f2. Should get fixed though; (unrelated rant) that and the thing where pets will stand like 10 feet out in front of you; I know they won’t aggro anymore, but it’s kind of annoying when you’re trying to micro your pet out of AE and instead of running back to you when you recall him he stands way out in front.
It’s always been like this. Pets have to “acquire” the target all over again after being swapped, which takes like half a second. If you activate their F2 too soon, they simply execute it without a target (although birds’ F2 will still land if they were swapped directly on top of an enemy. More from happening to be on the hitbox rather than targeting).
