New pet bat suggestion :)
What the heck are Thieves doing lately that have caused so many different ‘anti-stealth’ suggestions to appear recently?

I think the advent of the new traps has people a little paranoid.
That being said, I agree and disagree with the OPs premise. I’m for any new pets – especially a cave bat. However, a thrown sonic trap from a ranger might be a better solution for stealth/trap detection as it takes up a skill slot. shrug

It seems many have adapted to recent changes by going to a stealth build, where they whittle you down rather than burst you. Pretty common to see 1 thief troll a group of 3-5 by attacking and restealthing ..rinse/repeat. Depending on the 3-5 players he has a chance to kill all 5 …or just leave if it isn’t going his way.
A recent video shows exactly the mindset of many thieves. It shows a thief using the new supply trap. He goes into the middle of 20+ people trying to supply up. He drops the trap then runs away while they all try and hit him. In the video he is laughing like an idiot as he escapes everytime. Pure troll.
Forzani kinda hit it right on…
To add to that, stealth was not a problem when it required cnd to proc (since u can use reflexes and skills to dodge it)… but with the prevalance of d/p thief builds, they are now guarenteed a stealth regardless of location via skill 5 blinding powder and 2 heartseeker leap finisher…
Other classes like eles and warriors can burst them down or use AOE for the short duration they are visible, but rangers have pew pew arrows that the thief can regen back when they are in stealth… (also pets seem to be wondering around chasing more than hitting, which means we lose another chunk of our damage)
This was just posted by a Thief …
meh. i play thief, and i’ve played all the different weapon sets on thief. to those who say there’s a significant initiative cost on d/p black powder heartseeker stealth, that just means you’re not traiting properly. when i used d/p it there was no huge initiative cost for the permanent, at will stealth it gave me.
more and more Thieves are coming out of the closet so to speak and admitting what many are saying. You won’t see that very often in a game like this unless it is really overpowered.

Hey, my idea was rather tame and geared towards stopping perma stealth / marshmellow attack harassment. “Larcener’s Bain” would be useless in a 1v1.
thanks frostfang i doubt it will happen tho…
