Do we know if anything’s coming? Would be cool to have some uniqueness to how our pets look.

I want to say someone asked once during a livestream and they basically beat around the bush and then ignored it. Cosmetic options would be cool, though, be careful for what you wish for. I can see Anet making cosmetic options into Gem Store cash grabs.

Pink Ribbon for your pet? 350 Gems. Brown-colored Saddle for your pet? Rare RNG drop from BL Chests. I shudder to think of the possibilities.

Persistent pet names.

New pets would have to contribute something meaningful before Anet would add them I think, and that is tough considering how strong some pets are for their game mode (i.e. whatever they add needs to compete with a wolf in PvP or jaguar in PvE.) I doubt Anet adds pet bloat that nobody really would use.

Something I’d love to see is for a dev to take a look at existing pets and make the ones that are utterly useless not … utterly useless.

Edit: Particularly brown bear, since they nerfed our condi removal options so tyrannically.

I’d rather they not just be cosmetic swaps, but have uniqueness to them. Maybe a new kind of armour fish or shark so that those two weren’t lonely in their families, although I don’t know what HoT has for underwater content.

Of course, they still need to address issues with the current pets, like there being NO BUFFS TO THE PORCINE LINE OF PETS (!), so perhaps it’s better to put that stuff on priority first since there’s a lot of options present that simply aren’t used.

EDIT: Persistent pet names would be a great feature to add though.

Tiger and crocodile aren’t terribly likely – Tigers are Canthan creatures, and we already have drakes filling the Croc spot.

We do have Raptors, Griffons, and Rock Dogs though. All pets that can be tamed by existing NPCs on live that we apparently can’t get ourselves for whatever reason.

Jungle pet are more likely to be present if new one are added. Cant wait for a pet snake lel.

I hope so! In gw1 with each expansion we did. I don’t see why not. Give us some jungle pets! I want a silver back gorilla!

What I miss from gw1 was the pet training. Rip sinister crocodile…

(I was farming solo some elite instance with this pet)

I would expect pet skins, and more pets to be tamed simply because if they don’t that’s a major shame… Then they should give us 10 pets at first.. running 6 years with same pets would be freaking cheap way of representing ranger.. and most of them are like 6 viable pets.

While I wouldn’t be opposed to new skins and looks on pets I fully agree with you here we have plenty cool pets that are never ever used anywhere because they are so bad in the current form, fix that first then add new stuff.
