Guild Wars 2

Started playing Gw2 a couple weeks ago.
Been doing a lot of pvp. Got into the tournament style matches more then the hot join.
Wanted some input on my build, been working pretty well so far.
Still having problems dealing with mesmers though.
Built as a power build.
Low crit, good sustained and survival.

My ranger build

Are you playing bunker? This is first. PvP is fast paced. Once you have point captured or your team lack of defensive, you need to be mobile.

2 type of ranger that I typically see or I have tried myself is trapper and spirit. I think you will have better success at this area then being a bunker. Ranger need to be mobile since your best healing skill is so-so. But I am no pro at PvP so I maybe wrong. Try to look at the guides. There are many good guides about spirit ranger or trapper. Those list should still up to date since Anet has not touched either of them.

i dont like the Spirit of Stone dat much,it doesnt fit..
With this build you are gonna be tanky and you are gonna have a nice sustain dmg but pvp is all about team..
You are tanky———Guardians,Spirit Rangers are tanky too and bring support to the team
You have sustain dmg————Well S/D thiefs have more dmg(almost burst) , a lot of evades and Shadow Refuge.

So it comes down to what can you offer to a team that other classes cant..And what can you do that a team will find usefull enough.
Sure you will be able to 1v1 Mesmers eventually but in pvp selfish builds dont do well
