New power build (sPvP)
Never thought of trying a sentinel amulet with a longbow build. Seems like you’ve worked enough precision in, although I don’t think Two Handed Training is necessary. Between pack runes and Furious Grip you should be close to 100% uptime on fury. Maybe plug Read The Wind in instead, as that’s pretty important for a longbow.
Pros:
- High Survivability through stats and passive evades
- Able to disrupt enemies – 2 knockbacks = Ideal for Bunkering a point
- 2 stun breakers and 24 second stability
- Noticeable burst on a short cooldown
- Glorious Decapper
And now for not-so-pleasant cons:
- Absolutely no dueling cleanse ability (one can not rely on the signet 100% of the time)
- Relies heavily on an easily avoided Maul ability. The only reliable combo to apply the burst is on 12 second cooldown and requires LB:2 > LB:3 > Swap > flank position + interrupt requirement > GS:5 > GS:2 which can be avoided by way too many means
- The only ability to cleanse immobilize effects puts you out of range of your main damage weapon
- You really need to swap the Steady Focus from MM to either II or IV
- Is outshined in sustained / burst damage by almost any other class > is not the best bunker, not the best DPSer, neither best CC machine nor the best decapper. Just the mash-up of mentioned above.
Even though I have to say the build is interesting. It definitely looks viable. I can just imagine it outshined by anything else.

Malicious Training (II) is bugged and doesn’t increase pet conditions, so I’d suggest Signet Mastery (IV). I was thinking the same thing myself seeing as SoR is his only condition cleanse.
If this build was meant for casting from afar with longbow I think Steady Focus would be okay, but it seems it’s built more for up close and personal where full endurance will be rare.
Tbh, this build may work in PVE or hotjoin, but has no place in high end PVP.
No cleanse = dead sentence vs any bulky condition classes. (Engi will eat you alive, necro will eat you alive, ele will eat you alive, and now even warrior can)
This is not PVE, you can’t expect to spike down all opponents quickly.
You sacrifice SotF in nature for spotter in powerline… what?
Also 10% damage when endurance is full is a damage boost you cannot keep if you fight anyone decent. (I used to use it, then I gave up the trait and go for -cd signet)
This build will only work when there’re like 2 teammates covering you. It has no dueling potential due to 0 cleanse. (signet cleanse is way too weak). You can’t expect to not duel at all in tournament.
@Aomine
While I do agree with most of the facts you stated about conditions, I partly have to disagree about some statements.
This build might be viable in constructive PvP. Maybe not the tournament games, but this is nowhere around that level.
Anyways : This build can actually evade / block lots of conditions as well.
But what counts is not what it can evade, but what it offers. And it’s very tanky nature with passive 1/3 evade uptime, very strong CC through 2×2 sec knockdown + 1×1,5 sec Fear (AoE) + 3 sec Stun/Daze + 2×1,5sec knockback
-everything while in possession of noticeable power spikes (that are also AoE)
Here I’ll mention that SotR not only cleanses you – but EVERYONE on point close to the pet. I’ll also mention the AoE cripple through Longbow is useful as well. For a strange reason, this build includes a Spotter which is a 7% crit for your team, too.
And I do think that such an amount of CC is pretty much viable by itself.
You might not be able to duel up everyone with this build – but I’m 75% sure that you can survive more than 20 seconds at even a 1v3 situation which buys more than enough of the time needed for your team to come help or cap the rest of the map.
You see – sPvP is not all about winning a duel. Bunkering a point for the time needed is one of the most important parts of the objectives. And this build definitely can do that…
… For that – I can imagine Healing Spring a much better option since it cleanses 6 conditions – you’ll be fighting on point anyways – and it works cool with Swoop ability.
Actually there is no ranger build that has a place in high end pvp.. Sure there are some like survival cond and power longbow ranger but lets be honest guys.. Its a mediocre pick. There isnt any build out there competing with cele engie, cele ele, shoutbow, etc etc..
So i dont believe that this build is for high end pvp. I never claimed so.
Its a fun skirmishing roaming build with good survivability and dmg..
I picked steady focus for the >swap weapon>hilt bash>maul combo. Immob and criple is a problem indeed.. With 26 k life burning and bleed is not imo.. I have the time to control em

SotF is a really good trait.
It basically serves as Ele’s cantrap cleanse. (Just that ele’s cantrip is even more useful than ranger’s survival skills…) But hey, high fury uptime is kinda ok I guess.
Looks interesting. I’d personally go with healing spring for the double leap finisher and to help with condi’s.

Just gonna hop in and clarify a few things.
1. Malicious training DOES work, it only increases the condi duration whilst the pet is in combat.
2. Of our options as rangers for “high end tPvP” the best option is currently 6/6/2/0/0 or 6/x/x/6/0 zerker ranger.
We don’t have anything that can go toe to toe with the top 3 cele builds. However, that isn’t the role of the ranger in most comps. If it was… then survival condis is capable of 1 v 1ing 2/3 of those builds with no problem and with supreme node control. Because of that comps could be made around a condi ranger in order to force those 1 v 1s but currently there is no top team with such a comp or a capable ranger. I say a specific comp is required because once a team fight occurs any of those cele builds would become superior to the ranger.
The biggest issue with not running zerker as a power ranger is just a lack of power scaling on our weapons. I’ve often found that since the pet nerf the only viable power option for ranger is zerker.
Am I good?… I’m good.

Malicious training isn’t bugged. My pet black bear applies 15 seconds of weakness when traited and my snow leapord 7 seconds of chill.
