Hello fellow rangers.
I’m back to the game after a long while and started a ranger. MY question is, seems like im keep dying really quick and not be able to kill a single guy on 1v1. Can you give me some tips? or share me your builds? anything that helps really..

And 1 more question: is ranger a good class for pvp or should i reroll?

First of all, what build you are using and what role you want to try to be in?
If you are going LB+GS with zerk amulet and try to capture points 1v1 you’ll have a bad time most of the times, with that setup you’ll want to help your team mates to capture points.

LB+GS 1v1 is actually rather very strong if you play it right.. but most people don’t realize they have a gs for offense and not defense and they don’t utilize their pet very well. Only thing you should struggle mightily against is the occasional medi gaurd, and DD ele.

You can also try out condi builds if 1v1s are more your thing.

You will improve by grinding games but you will improve far faster if you put real thought into improving a single aspect of play until it becomes habit. For example when I duel players I’ll often attach a condition like “if you hit me with pin down you win the duel” and then I’ll play like this until I dodge it by habit rather than thought.

Unless your enemies are top three ESL teams the class won’t hold you down. You will find that any role a ranger serves can be done better by another class, but unless you play with absolute perfection you have room to overcome the class problems through better play.

I’d recommend learning 02660 sb sword/dagger condi survival build first as it is incredibly easy to play and exceptional at 1v1s (in the recent ESL 1v1 tournament the top 4 were rangers and 3 of us were playing a variation of this). LB/GS is a viable and strong build but requires a higher level of skill to play effectively when you’re not at 2000 range.
