Anyone have any educated guesses as to when the next “balance” patch might be? “balance” being in quotation marks for obvious reasons.

Though like many Rangers I’m holding out little hope for our future (which is fine as I’m comfortable rolling condi-bunker and back-of-the-zerg-sniper for now), I’ll be very interested to see to what extent, if any, the devs actually yield the results of the Ranger CDI. I have to say, when Allie left the company my slight optimism diminished completely.

My guess? April next year. I say that because Anet considers something as fundemental to a game’s life as “Game Balance” to be a feature worthy of an Expansion or ‘Feature pack’ for some reason instead of something you add to the game at regular (short) intervals. So,….I think it will be released with the next feature pack on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.

April next year sounds about right. I think a lot of attention is on China for the next few months.

ANet has done a pretty good job at keeping their (admittedly snail paced) 3-4 month balance patch schedule going since GW1, and we’ve already seen that they plan on sticking to that in GW2 unless they actually listen to the community.

So take April 15th, and add 3-4 months, and we get July/August. I would personally assume that they will make another go at balance before they do the next ANet hosted PvP tournament or Tournament of Legends 2, which given the past tournament being at PAX (I think it was PAX) in August, it would either have to happen “far enough in advance for any bugs to be taken care of and to not shake things up too much for the competitive teams that it messes with the level of competition” or it might not even happen until after the next “big” competitive tournament.

Let’s hope China guys won’t take Ranger’s state as cool as we do…
So far I think Chinese players do like ranger-kind very mutch.

Is Anet actually in charge of the balance for the Chinese Version, or does the Publisher there have control over that as well?

I just don’t understand how it takes them months to get another “balance” patch out. It takes them forever to get one out with minor changes, and they always end up breaking more than they fix lol. I think they are understaffed but that’s just my opinion.

All I can say about this is that I truly believe Rangers needs a serious rework…
(With keeping the original ideas, just fix them)

I’ve been getting this impression recently. It was confirmed for me when I saw the forum note above saying that the maintenance was overdue because of “resource constraints”.

i.e. not enough people working on it.

Time for a recruitment drive, Anet!
