Basically theyre doing a mini-discussion about upcoming balance changes for engineers and rangers on Friday’s ready up.
Huzzah!
Taking the previous times the rangers was mentioned in GW2 official videos, the ranger update part will take about 2 minutes of the video, including the presentations, small jokes and the laughs, and the info will be so vague that it would be just like nothing was told.
I just hope for no nerfs
Would have been nice if they could have posted what kind of changes were coming ahead of time so we could maybe get some questions answered at the ready up.
Plus discussion threads will help keep all the forum trolling in one thread as opposed to all over the place since I’m expecting nothing short of Aquaman 2.0.
Wait for them to say the balance changes will happen after the end of tol2.
And it is very likely to be only after the end of tol2.
End of ToL2? That’s optimistic, since both Gamescom and Tol2 are within a few weeks of each other, might as well just go with the safe option of September at the earliest, which is what I’m sure people mean.
Anyhow, I will be interested in seeing the discussion.

April 15th, so almost exactly 6 months if they do it the second week in September.
Yeah the September date makes sense. Go to the thread and ask if they’ll look at player feedback but they should give us a sense of what changes they’re planning.
I hope they talk about the changes they’re going to make due to the old CDI thread, instead of just waiting in anticipation for something that might be severely dissapointing
Not to sound pessimistic, but I get the feeling most will be trivial changes, like a 3s fury on 10s cd for Greatsword which needs a non-offensive traitline to even use in the first place.
I really hope I am wrong.
I don’t know why I still get excited by these, but I do.
Deep down I still hope they will announce changes to the actual concerns we’ve been voicing for years, but then I remember that these things always end the same… With the same group on socially awkward Devs making jokes before brushing over rangers as quickly as possible because they don’t really understand the class and are incapable of actually discussing it in depth. That is, of course, assuming they actually have any Ranger changes to brush over in the first place.

The balance patch will be probably hit the earliest in 8 weeks.
Every two weeks two professions, then a waiting time with up to one month.

Dungeon purely underwater, pvp/wvw maps purely underwater. LFG’s would be like “RANGERS ONLY – NO NOOBS” lol.

underwater is probably not noobfriendly enough for anet.
And all in all was underwater fight a bit unbalanced. Guards Engis and Rangers were the kings underwater while thiefz should not even try to fight another one in water.
Of course it is a lot of fun for the ones who know how to Play there. But the most cant handle it and describe it as not fun.
I hope anet bring water fights back because it was real fun, they just to Balance it out and make it more appealing for others.

$5 says absolutely nothing gamebreaking or gamechanging happens with this, and we’ll have no change in the current ways of the Ranger.

That is the feeling of almost every ranger and pet trait/skill, nothing can be good without a catch that makes it bad.
Pet skills in general are very underwhelming. That said 3 sec cast time and 120 radius would make this the most useless pet imaginable.
1.5 sec cast time (and if rangers were half decent – 1/4 sec cast time)
600 radius
4 second stability
45 sec cooldown

What’s going to be even more entertaining is that it’s a pre-recorded video, which means that the devs are going to try to showcase changes with actual gameplay of some sort I would assume.

We thought that Beastmasters Bond was really lacking for power builds so it also gives swiftness, but we nerfed the rangers power scaling because LB builds were too stronk.
They normally are on that level of facepalm…

You are right. I figured people would get the angry villager and aquaman reference. Shame now I don’t even have a proper pitchfork to riot with. I guess I will have to settle for a second rate stick with a pointy end. Story of being a ranger lol.
lol since when do we ever get to use what we want?!? We normally have to used duct tape to make 2 sorta kittenty things add up to something mediocre! Now grab your mediocre duct tape consturcted spears and lets burn down Anet!

I wonder if anet collected all tooltip mistaked after release and thought…maybe we ckittene them when we have zero plan what to write in our patches…

I think rangers are now better balanced then before.
The rest works as intended.
Was the Natural Healing tooltip already fixed?
It’s genuninely impressive they still find tool tips to fix. I mean it would take what, a couple of hours for someone who knows the class to go through every skill and trait and put every possible fact you could ever want to know on it. Between all the devs they’d just need to set aside one day to fix every tooltip for every class and be done with it, forever.
But somehow we are here 2 years in and the tooltips are still wrong. I really don’t know how they do it.

Eles are pretty nice underwater as well………but maybe that’s just me.
Am I the only one that thinks the time allocated to the Skill Bar segment is not enough to highlight things that will make an impact on the ranger class much less both ranger and engineer? I believe I read somewhere it was going to be 5 mins long.
5mins for each class, but I agree… with as much as is wrong with the Ranger class I’m not sure how they’ll cram anything substantive in 5mins. Of course they’ll play the ‘this is just a taste of what’s to come’ card, but we’ve heard that every patch and found everything other than what was presented were tool tip fixes or very minor.

I agree, but still it is the double of the time I was expecting for the ranger.
And yeah, my understanding is that will be 5 mins per class.

… We decided to pre-record these segments because it allows us to cut down each profession from over 15 minutes to about 5 …
