Off-Hand Axe???
Its the only weapon that’s missing its own trait and no news on if the range/radius of Path Of Scars/Whirling Defense is baseline.
What’s happening with it??
I think they said the previous 4 hour stream a few months ago all the offhand skills were getting OHT as base, didn’t they?
i believe OH axe gets its CD reduction from Honed Axes. a/a anyone? maybe.
what pains me is that WD wasn’t reworked. it’s such a disaster of an ability.
WD doesn’t need rework, except maybe the current radius/range increase, which I really hope is made baseline.
It’s effect is almost elite-skill worthy (see Daggerstorm), the upside is the low CD (compared to daggerstorm) and the downside is the fact that it’s a rooted skill, which is perfectly balanced.
Ranger’s have access to so much cripple/immob that using it for the damage effect (and vulnerability stacking) isn’t hard at all. And on top of that, projectile reflection AND retaliation. And whirl finisher. I don’t see how its a ‘disaster of an ability’
In short; I really hope the range and radius is increased baseline, for both Path of Scars and Whirling Defense.
…maybe add a small 1-2s of cripple on the first Path of Scar hit?
what? you know daggerstorm crits for like 3-4k per projectile? and the thief can move freely while channeling.
the fact that WD roots you for 5s makes it nonviable. it’s damage is paltry (something like 4.5k if the entire thing is channeled on zerker gear). whirl finishers are pointless in practice. and most specs can continue to dish out their damage without using projectiles. the only exceptions are pistol thieves and rifle warriors, which are virtually nonexistent. it’s also a cleave, only hits 3 targets in melee. granted it works nicely against LB rangers.
WD might work if it was compressed into a 2s channel, along with its damage. it’s almost always better to have another offhand instead. but PoS is nice in large wvw fights.
