Off-hand training missing
Anywhere from “Not gonna make the cut for ‘reasons’” to “they’re not done with the traits yet”
I’m going to lean on the second possibility since there are a lot on the grid that still suck and/or need to be combined with others to matter in the new game.
EB is a great example as there’s little reason to take the current version when the new Wilderness Knowledge is just so much better.
I’m willing to bet that all the range increases from it are baseline, and Off Hand axe CDs were merged into the BM GM trait

I’m hoping so. Dagger without the extra range on Stalkers and Talon is going to be a lot less fun.

Unless of course you don’t plan on using survival skills, then you have to… Which sucks too.
I’m guessing Off-Hand training should be baseline in the Wilderness Survival trait line, since we already have Ambidexterity trait for increased condi damage for both dagger and torch off-hands. No point in putting it somewhere else.
What bugged me was every other class had their baselines announced while the ranger was completely ignored. The way they showed the new Ranger specialization felt really rushed and disrespectful for the players enjoying or maining the class. I think they should have not showed everything in one go and at least split it in half, making the streaming less forced.
If only we had a guy who knew what he was saying and showed more positivism when he was presenting the ranger specialization traits.

@Skullface
Ranger announcement was done the way it was, because…
He didn’t even actually want to be the one to do it, since he saw the changes… Practically on the spot right and there.
We can’t blame it. We should be glad we got any at all.
I’m pretty much 99 % sure it will be baseline. Look at the radius from Call of the Wild that is triggered from the new Beastmaster’s Bond trait. It says 750.
750 is the radius of Call of the Wild with off-hand training traited. 600 is the current baseline.
That and the fact that they already merged half of the functionality from off-hand training into new traits, it only makes sense that radius/range is gonna be baseline.

yeah noticed this as well. i hope they do that range increase for all the offhand weps.
btw with baseline those that you don’t have to trait for the range on your weps of so awesome if not till me i am wrong :p
anyway offhand weps with offhand training are so good stalker strike(dagger 4) that extra step in duels i use as gap closer/evade i am one those few who stopped using a longbow a while ago and went melee ranger i have seen traits that i like in the new set up. anyway not gone babble any longer plz anet increase the range range on offhand weps or gives that trait back melee range’s will be very great full for it. cheers

I think it’s more a result of the Ranger getting more than just the Specialization changes.
With everything in ANet’s pipeline, Rangers have:
- Changes from Specialization System … just like everyone else
- A new elite Specialization … just like everyone else
- A new weapon … just like everyone else
- New utilities … just like everyone else
- Traps changes … just us
- Spirit changes … just us
- AI changes … mostly us … Some other classes use AI, but theirs is drastically simpler given that their AI never has to deal with commands issued from them except to die to create some other effect. No one else has AI with auto-attacks, 2 skills with cooldowns, an F2 ability, passive/active settings, and attack/follow commands … not to mention interaction with Shout utilities (Search & Rescue and Guard).
That’s considerably more stuff that needs to be done for Rangers … so we’re “less finished” than the others.

In this particular case, I think they’re just making it baseline. Nothing more to it.
As I already said, the new Beastmaster’s Bond procs a Call of the Wild with a 750 radius according to the tooltip. That’s what Call of the Wild currently has when traited with off-hand training. Meaning that this particular skill in fact has it base radius increased from 600 to 750. I don’t see why the other weapons won’t get the same treatment.
hmm i hope your right lazze. btw you think they will take a look on the shouts as well?

@Lazze:
Good eyes. I think you’re right.

We can only hope. The shouts need some work.
