ANet I have been in this game for a long time. So I remember the original version of rampage as one that this new SoTP closely resembles.

And I remember why you changed it.

You swapped Rampage As One to the pulsing format because the limited amount of boonsteal and corrupt in the game was enough to completely nuetralize our elite skill. Making this skill borderline useless.

A single thief steal. A single corrupt. And our elite skill was not only non existant but could also be HARMFUL to us.

So you changed it. And FINALLY the skill saw use.

But today. In a game FULL of corrupts and boonsteals. More than ever before. You decided to revert SoTP to its old form that was ALREADY considered weak.

It doesn’t matter how many stacks of stab you put on it. Any more than 3 is extra after all. We know this.

Here is a list of things you hurt.

You hurt the ability to maintain personal stab.

You hurt the ability to copy stab through heal as one.

You Hurt the ability to copy stab through fortifying bond.

You hurt the ability to generate and maintain personal fury.

You hurt the ability to copy fury through heal as one.

You hurt the ability to buff the pet after a swap through fortifying bond and heal as one.

With this change. You have left both the ranger AND his pet without stability in most realistic fights. Hurting survivability and damage.

You have hurt both the ranger AND his pets ability to deal damage through the loss of fury.

Now It may seem I am being melodramatic. But this change actually took multiple tools/combos away from rangers. Making the class more straightforward to play if you want to use these skills. In effect making the skillset more BORING as well.

So my question I suppose is this…Why?

You KNOW that this version of the skill is weak. It was weak when there were FEWER counters to it. And it is only going to be even weaker now. So why did you change it back to a version of the skill that was at the time of the change considered sub par in nearly every fight?

Edit: And another 15% damage nerf to smoke assault? Really? Will you atleast give us back the two hits you stole from the skill before along with the two might stacks attached to them?

Really, I’d just like the pulsing fury and swiftness back. Pulsing stability lacking counterplay and needing to be changed I can understand, but killing the synergy with remorseless as well was just too much.

Awesome synergies were one of the reasons the long list of changes during the specialisations update made buildcraft on the ranger fun. Getting rid of them is just a huge step backwards.

It’s so funny it is almost numbing. The boon spam was high, so they added more corruption and boon removal. Then reduced pulsing boons (specifically, stability), but kept the additional boon corruptions and removals while able to negate entire stacks.

Let’s also bring up that Strength of the Pack could have at least received a cooldown reduction back to 60s, but since it’s kept at 75s, making it statistically a weaker version of Signet of the Wild without a passive benefit.

Also, less synergy with Remorseless now, but at least we still have Most Dangerous Game.

The Stab was supposed to be a placeholder(Same with Rampage/Tornado/Lich ect) for a player breakbar but we never got it.

This change irked me more then anything else, I don’t want to return to the days of Thief hard countering Ranger. I’ve stuck with this class since launch, I’ve seen hell and heaven. (Spirit ranger heaven that is) I was elated as a healer main in other games to have received Druid. I have dealt with every single nerf this class has received and lived to see every buff. But this is something big. A single stack of stability gives us zero counterplay to Mesmer and Thief.

Just tossing in a plus 1 here. It got smiter’s booned. A single corrupt that is going to happen and the elite is now a burden (and a nasty one at that, remember stab converts to fear.)

Very weird and brutal nerf; you’re nuts if you take this skill now.

Not surprised. They NEVER think things through fully.
