Open World Event Farming Build Help
Just run some variant of Axe/Torch condis. Consistent aoe damage that will let you tag all of the mobs.

For easy tagging and open world there’s this build: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQJATWnUqAVsi1rAerAUtgl9Ab52FAObwz18af9pDUueaZU8IPfA-TxhFABDcJAGU9nR2fAgnAwZ6CMS5XVKBJFgNStA-e
I believe you’ll find yourself something you’d enjoy.
For HoT solo story (an some HP), since you’ll need CC to break bars, I went Double Staff + Glyph (Primal Echoes, Verdant Etching, Moment of Clarity (works on those 2 before)). Beastly Warden helps too.
For Tagging and grinding my HoT mastery level in DS, I went Double LB Quick Draw with Barrage, you’ll tag LOTS of monster. Just don’t mess up your rotation.
LB + melee berserker (s/a or GS if you need more contol) is the best. Highest damage and LB is absurdly easy to play in PvE, especially against meta bosses.
Condi is fun but it can be annoying to get enemies in your bonfire. It’s also hard to stand in melee range all the times in HoT, as many enemies have strong anti-melee defenses. Like if you try to put a bonfire on a hylek, you’ll pretty much instantly die to their poison.
Honestly for open world… I’d just run staff/longbow zerker…
Want to tag mobs? Target the monster in the back and spam 1 moving from left to right… The beam hits everything in between… Want to break bars and do more dmg? Swap to longbow at max range and spam 2 to victory…
GW2 so hard lol
The reason a shortbow bleed build feels slow is because it’s conditions. But it’s more than just that. HoT foes are considerably more durable with higher toughness and vita.
I use something different, rampager hybrid longbow/staff.
It preserves much of longbows physical dmg but also brings in bleed bursts. The build is tuned for wvw roaming so I imagine just going full Rampagers in pve would be better instead of some of the celestial pieces I have in.
