So far I’m loving my Ranger. I am happy with my my damage output, how much better the traps are in GW2 than they were in GW1, pets are actually doing pretty good now once you find the duo that fits your play style best, and our survivability. Overall, the ranger in this game is a jack of all trades.

However, if just 2 tweaks were made, JUST TWO! I believe the ranger would be perfect as a class. First, I think the longbow can be tweaked slightly by improving the 1 skill. Either add more damage or stop punishing so much for distance as its hard to maintain it to be viable. Second, and most important, PLEASE FIX SPIRITS ANET! Right now they are just to squishy and not so great with their effects. Just read my post on this topic specifically here:: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/EDIT-TOPIC-Problems-with-Ranger-spirits-and-suggestions/first#post191532

So please ANET fix these things to make my precious ranger perfect.

I agree with both points. Longbow buffs and Spirit buffs would probably put Rangers on the map as a profession. After that we can worry about the “nitpicky” issues.

e.g. making Signet builds an alternative to Survival-skill based builds
Making Shouts worth something
Making the OHs that are not a Warhorn more attractive
Cleaning up Trait lines

Those 4 above are on my list after Longbow/Spirit buffs, as both of those were well over-nerfed. I’d recommend just reverting the nerfs and seeing how it goes from there. I doubt people will complain about the old longbow, as most WvW zergs have figured out Arrow Carts work.

The other thing that NEEDS to be fixed is sword locking, but that may be a bit more complex than changing coefficients on skills.

Longbow, worst weapon in game, it needs adjustment.

The distance means nothing in almost all encounters. Most other classes have a 900-1200 distance skill and the small gap of advantage you have is closed with a dodge within a second.
