Natures Ninja and Pain Inverter – Ranger PvP movies

Been testing out different food/rune setups lately to see if I could manage the P/D a bit better, against the bad ones I normally crush them fairly easily, but good ones can easily turn the fight in their favor and win, mainly to confusing my pet so it doesn’t actually hit anything.
While running around with the burst setup on my pet I thought i’d try a new food setup instead of my old one (mainly because I was removing Lightning Reflex/Pain Inverter from my bar)
I’m currently using Reyna’s armor with Apothecary Jewel/Weapons, This gives me a good amount of healing power/condition/vit/toughness.
But the thing about Reyna’s that caught my eye was the Runeset, which is Melandru..
This Rune set reduces Condition Duration by 25%. Now I have Empathetic Bond, but even with it I still notice Conditions are causing me trouble (Though now that I think about it, Barkskin might be interesting doing this setup) Esp the bleeds from the P/D thieves.
I found that by stacking the food that reduces the duration by 40% as well+vit that I drastically cut the amount of damage P/D thieves are able to put out on me…..From what i can tell, They can maintain about 3 Stacks of Bleeds when I run this setup.
That is far more manageable then the usual 8-9 bleeds.
I’ll see if I can get some video of it, I actually had some really good Natures Ninja footage tonight but I forgot to bloody hit the Record button each time.
But till then, I recommend other rangers out there start looking at an approach like this.
I use Melandru’s runeset. I have noticed a slight improvement in my survivability, I only wish the cond/stun duration reduction applied to immobilize too. :P

Wait isn’t immobilized a condition? Why isn’t it affected by the condition duration reduction?
In my opinion...Superior Rune of the Forge is the best option. 33% less damage for 12 - 14 seconds is huge. Top that off with Companion’s Defense which stacks in duration and Bark Skin reduces it another 30% if traited. I have gotten away from countless zergs chasing me with this setup.

Oops…you’re right. I tend to see red everywhere when I talk about rangers and immobilize in the same sentence lol.

Yea, that’s a possible replacement as well, Problem is I’d have to run the dungeon for it, but yea….I had thought about doing that just for it though.
All depends on where your damage comes from, allot of rangers main damage comes from there BM builds, which is most of the reasons its so hard for rangers to win.
Burst rangers have no real problem vs P/D we just wait for them to come out of stealth and deal the pain. Playing defensive is never good idea vs thieves.
