Hello

I just finished leveling my first ranger to lv 80 (after having mostly played a necro since release) and now I’m having trouble deciding on a build and armour.

Only thing I know for sure is that I really enjoy the sword/torch combination with a pet lynx. I’m looking for some survivability as well.

I only play PVE, and hardly ever do dungeons/fractals.

Does anyone have any tips/advice?

So what do you do in PvE with 80 lvl character if not dungeons or fractals? Only farming events? If so, every build you make will be good.
If u wanna torch and lynx, it’s condition. Try combining carrion and rabid equipment, though condition damage ain’t good in PvE. Better to go zerking, but if you want some survivability try something like this.

Pets have their own condition dmg. They don´t scale with the rangers gearchoice.

Sword is powerweapon, the burning from the torch (and bit direct dmg) is ok for solo pve. U can use any powerbased gear like berserker, knights or soldiers.

Example build, nothing for dungeons/fractals or organized events like the great junglewurm. But good for easy open PvE.

Warhorn 5 used in your torch´s firefield will grant up to 5 allies 3 stacks of might. Nice support for open world bosses.

Learn to dodge and go full zerker for PVE and Dungeons.

My last link is the old 20/25/0/25/0 fullzerk/sholar runes build, but with s/torch and s/horn because the TE wanted to play a torch.
