Guild Wars 2

Since I started play Guild Wars 2 back in days I fount Ranger to be my favorite and main class. Almost every single day in 4-5 years when I have played ranger, pets had really irritate me. Like they just run all over the place and annoying me and other players. Anyway what if that ranger would have an option to be just marksman, (just like in World of Warcraft) or be a ranger. All the damage that pets are doing would maybe transfer to the ranger itself (well rangers do a lot damage atm so maybe not)?
And yeah, almost every single pet is REALLY ugly (no offence).
Once this started annoy me super much, I made Guardian and started play DragonHunter to be just like ranger, DH is really good, but I just didn’t like the heavy armor and my character look anyway.
Please ANet don’t force me to play my DragonHunter. I really love my ranger not my pets.

I can relate, i like most of ranger kit (especially GS and Axe) but never liked pet in any game. All we can hope is for an elite petless maybe next exp.

If the next elite spec was nothing more than:
“Imbue yourself with your pet’s power”
-No longer have a pet companion but deal 20% more damage.
I would totally run that.

I always laugh when I have to admit to chat
“Sorry, I Ranger-ed that up.” when my pet runs in and ruins whatever we’re doing.

I’d like to believe you know what set pet to passive does.

If any ranger is complaining about pets, then they don’t know how to use the mechanic properly. Pets are ranger’s greatest strength. Even the non-HoT pets are extremely useful when used properly. I would argue that the only instances in which pets may not be as useful are in raids. They’re useful even in fractals as they help you survive if you ever find yourself alone.

Well, pets make playing alone too easy in PvE. All you need to do is shoot the enemy from far and pet tank it. When your pet die u just switch pets. It would be much more fun and harder to play as ranger without pet, but well it depends how ANet will do this.
