Pet Dies penalty
When the pet dies you can swap pet and after that you can only swap pet after 60 seconds, so if you focus on the pet you can kill both in a few seconds and after that the ranger will lose ~30% of their damage and also 100% of their class mechanic and plenty of their traits for those 60 seconds.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
How are you going to complain about something and not even know what the hell you’re talking about?
A huge part of our condition clear goes right out the window as soon as our pet dies.
Not to mention we already have a 60 second penalty on our pet when it dies… lol

fppt its not passive , it does it main feature attack aka leap kd on its first attack when swapped its controlled by the ranger so its not passive m if you leave the pet to do what ever it wants it will do just like gw1 it will cycle through its skills.
ps 60secs! a long time without condi transfers or that CC you call free? we need that CC , aiming at because rangers have no Hard CC and don’t count muddy terrain its a 1sec immobilise very very limited and needs to be combined with other short term forms a soft CC to work.
we only have three skills that cause a hard cc which are 2 ranged 1 melee and are on weapon sets that are not combinable , you can’t get anymore than one hard cc per weapon set , S+axe = 1 hard CC , Gs = 1 hard CC (dont count block thats like a off hand sword for war it needs a incomming attack to work)
and obviously Point blank on a longbow which is one hard cc on a single weapon set, that is ranged easly avoided.
we need those pet CC’s too to even up to other classes that have access to 2 maybe 3 CC’s or hard CC’s because they have utility options and weapon sets that work better in some combos.

Uuh… Kill a Rangers pet and they lose most of their condition cleanse and a good chunk of CC. Rampage As One without a pet also becomes significantly less effective.
No one ever attacks the pet because everyone knows AI is stupid and unreliable. It’s not going to be a huge threat as long as you kite it properly. Kill the pet though and the Ranger is in trouble, especially if they’re using Empathetic Bond.
As someone who has been a melee trapper for the last 8+ months I can tell you that when one or both of my pets die I can feel the difference quite clearly.
And as others have said, 60seconds is a long time without CC and condition cleanse.
