from what I understand its a force detarget and loss of control skill
Yea and only your auto attack will be used I believe.
Is this not explained anywhere?
From the rumors I’ve heard, that’s what it’ll do. I’m really not adding anything. Just keeping the thread fresh so some developer can give us clarity on this…. wink wink
nudge nudge, say no more, say no more, eh?
Or we just keep saying more until we can just get someone to post something red!

I guess that explains it…thanks!
Well the thing that I’m not 100% clear on is whether the autoattacks are being sent out at your own will or if they’re just being spammed. This might not be as big of a deal for a fast attacking class like a thief that has daggers but someone using a hammer getting forced to swing it without control on timing could have a lot more trouble with this condition. I’m just curious as to how it will work in that regard. “Taunt is a control effect that forces the affected target to run towards the source of taunt with all skills except stun breakers disabled while using their auto-attack skill.” This sounds like you would not have any control in my understanding of it. How do other people interpret this?
It’s the opposite of fear, but you are flailing your AA around at the same time.
They presnted the the taunt effect once on the firs revenant reveal. The taunted traget will run toward the taunting source and will attempt to spam auto attack it. The source is your pet so i belive the target will run toward the pet.
Just to clarify, after having watched the video, taunt forces the target to run toward then source, and THEN they start auto-attacking. Is this correct?
See, i was hoping that the enemy would “detarget” me and pick up my pet as a target. That would have been useful.
I don’t see why it would force a “detarget”, it will just force you to move at and engage in an auto-attack sequence on the pet.

I believe so, I don’t think they will engage in the auto-attack sequence if the opponent is not in range.
Now if you target a ranged opponent, I assume they will still move to the target while attacking, whereas I think a melee opponent won’t actually attack until they’re in range.
I wonder if disabling your auto-attack would have an effect on it (i.e. not auto-attacking at all).
